Colored* 01: Meet Olayiwola Daniel Akinsulire, today's feature for The Black Renaissance. [Keep reading]

"The Black skin is not a badge of shame, but rather a symbol of national greatness." - Marcus Garvey

Now for some fun fact straight from Daniel himself:

"I come from a Nigerian household. I’m the third child of four raised by two amazing hardworking people. Recently graduated in May 2020 and I’m working as a junior architect at KPF. Avid love for music, art and everything nature. "

My interest in architecture developed from my uncle who I lived with for some time in Nigeria; he is an architect. But mainly architecture is a combination of two of my passions, art (drawing) and math and physics. It allows creativity while being grounded by the laws of physics. Now that I’m in the field there’s a lack of presence of African Americans and what I’d want to do is find ways to expose the field to younger generations so they can see the possibilities, in pursuing a career in architecture."
