Meet Recap for my girlfriend and client Dani who just won her second meet while qualifying for open provincials!

Total: 287.5 kg + 10 pr
Squat: 100 kg
Bench: 52.5 kg + 2.5 pr
Deadlift: 135 kg + 15 pr
Class: Open 57
Bw: 56.9 kg

Over the last 2 years Dani has been balancing playing soccer, powerlifting, and managing a few injuries. Despite some bumps in the road, Dani never fails to put her head down and get the work done.

Starting off the meet with squats, we unfortunately experienced a tweak in her back (recurring injury). The opener moved great, and there was no doubt more in the tank, but we were unable to squat anything more after that.

After being pretty shaken up, we rallied back with bench grabbing a 2.5 kg pr that we missed twice in training, and going 3/3 in bench.

Moving onto pulls, Dani tested the waters during warm ups and realized that there was no pain in her back and we were right back in the race.

After opening lighter than our competition, but strategically taking bigger jumps, we loaded for the win ono the third and she pulled an easy 135kg which smoked her previous meet pr of 120, while also hitting the open 57 provincial total!

We now have entered an off season for Dani as we continue to rehab and build towards that 300kg total.

This meet was really special for me because I'm very invested in Dani's training, as we train together 2-3x per week. After her third pull I got pretty emotional seeing her rally back from such a low moment. I am so proud of her and beyond excited for the damage she can do in the open!
