They say you don’t appreciate the things you have until they’re gone. I spent the last 6 years building amazing relationships with some of the best people I’ve ever met. Before I prepare for my next chapter in Arkansas, I wanted to share my favorite moments with them. Thank you for these irreplaceable memories 🥹❤️

a non-exhaustive list of what i am grateful for this summer:

- kind strangers who make friendship easy
- accessible nature
- the unparalleled sentimentalism of nostalgia
- dance: organized dance, dancing in my room, dancing with friends, dancing outside, dancing to feel
- the entire state of colorado (barring its godawful airport and road congestion)
- well-maintained flower gardens and sweet-smelling roses
- tallahassee pain @tpain
- libraries. ALWAYS libraries
- writing; both the act of doing so and the ability to read the brilliant work of others
- amusement parks (especially when they have nonchalant rider attendees like @itsjujulovee )
- sun rays that shine through tree branches
- bodies of water
- gas station papusas
- lifelong friends and family that you grow with and grow towards, and who will time and time again remind me that being alive is a great gift, one that i’m so fortunate to experience in all of its overwhelming capacities

i was so blessed to spend these past few months with the most wonderful people 💞 thank you all for such an amazing and memorable summer. so much love in my heart and so much excitement for this new semester and everything that it brings.

but, to @osuengineering … please make an effort to be kinder this year, you’ve already put me through a lot

you know the drill. semester 6 lessons and things i want to remember:

- few things are better than pink flowering trees in the springtime (one of them being pink flowering trees in the SUMMERtime)
- real, apparent, complex, reactive power? i hardly know ‘er! (no, seriously. why are there so many different power quantities in ee.)
- slow shifts at scott are a great time to learn chinese (shi huan shuey tsiao)
- the sullivant hall dance studios at night are a great place to find ali-aliens @osudanceirregulars
- ohm’s law and euler’s identity are possibly the most goated mathematical relationships in all of time
- scott traditions has great food and even better chefs, we just gatekeep it from you normies (NARPs)
- the grief is endless, but so is the love, and that makes it all worth it

i think that something really valuable i’ve learned this semester is that support is all around, sometimes especially in unexpected places. university as a whole has remained one of the most isolating times and spaces i’ve experienced in my life; thus, i’ve found it is all the more important to be intentional about community and taking care of one another. it’s certainly not easy; challenges that we all experience make it difficult to show up even for ourselves, much less others. but it’s essential. being an individual is a privilege that i have within the scope of a community that is there for me to lean on in times of need, and that relationship is not unidirectional. so, if you’re willing to take advice from me, i’ll say this: reach out to your friends. express gratitude as often as you can. write cards and letters. be present for loved ones’ big moments, but small ones, too. call your relatives, and genuinely listen. host events. invite people you care about to run mundane errands. offer favors and be proactive about them. just, love; love unconditionally. it is a privilege to have so many people in my life to rely on, but an even bigger one to be there and to give back the support i’ve been so fortunate to have received.

i love my community. i love the relationships I’ve formed. thank you osu for such a transformative semester; 6/9 complete, with so much more to come. 💞
