I was lucky enough to find 2/3 of Rick's Driftless trilogy here in Atlanta back when he first started Corona/Samizdat Press. A great literary presence that has shaped many readers and writers alike. Talk soon, my friend @erdosain382

A year ago today my book 'The Garden' was published by the fantastic @athinsliceofanxiety. In many ways it has been the most surreal and brilliant year of my life not only because the book was released but because many readers welcomed it with open arms. The praise for the book has been beyond anything I could have ever hoped for and I wake up every day feeling thankful for everyone that has read it, posted about it and told their friends to have a look at it. I myself have mixed feelings about the novel - I love the characters and the world I so carefully researched in order to bring to life. Even the story is something I have a deep affection for. My issues stem more broadly from the way it's written, which I think is overwrought at times and something I'm trying to fix on future projects.

There really are too many people to thank. @sherdstube was the first one to recommend the novel to people, which in turn inspired Kevin from hvbooknerd, Jonathan Golding to pick it up and say wonderful things about it. @metafictional.meathead has been a staunch supporter in spreading the word when it comes to this book and for that I will be forever grateful. As I said, there are too many people to thank and so I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who's ever posted about the book, read it, bought it, or even just vaguely perused the Amazon page. I'm so grateful to all of you.

I also want to mention another huge aspect I'm grateful for, and one I wasn't necessarily expecting, and that's the other authors I've met and connected with. @jack_is_moody I'm very happy to call a friend, @gbk7288 and I have exchanged words of encouragement when it comes to writing and I've found it immensely helpful. Again, too many others to name but you're all awesome.

To end this off, I want to say that I don't know if I'll ever be published by a large publisher. I don't even know if I want to be. I think indie presses are where all the interesting stuff is happening at the moment so it's imperative we support them so they can allow the interesting work to keep flowing.

Thank you all again, it's been a wild year. I'll be updating people soon on my latest projects so stay tuned.
