Donatella is an icon. Full stop. But what I admire most is her relentless desire to keep evolving. After everything she’s accomplished, she still wants to push. To create. To become. A few years ago, we had a wild idea: to approach Donatella at a pivotal moment in her own evolution. I picked up the phone and called @danielbmarks . One conversation became many, trust became partnership, and a wild idea became something bigger than we ever imagined. Some call it luck. I call it magic. Two years of ideas, flights, late nights, early mornings, pivots and a hell of a lot of hustle later, we finally shared our partnership with the world. To help build this next chapter with and for Donatella is the honour of a lifetime, and something I’ll never take for granted. Thank you to @raissagerona and @mmente and @revolve for believing in me and this crazy idea. To Donatella, for trusting us with something so personal. And to Daniel, for answering that first call, believing in the insanity and becoming my partner in this journey. None of this would exist without you. Magic may start with a wild idea, but bringing it to life takes trust, belief, grit and a hell of a lot of hustle. And we’ve only just begun. ❤️

Portrait of Donatella Versace 70 × 140 cm · Oil on Canvas July 2023 – June 2026 I started this portrait in 2023 as a tribute to the one and only @donatella_versace. I’ve never been this invested in a painting before. Over the course of three years, I repainted it, changed the composition countless times, explored around twenty different styles, and even completed two separate canvases—all in pursuit of the image I had in mind. Donatella has always been someone I deeply admire. Despite constant scrutiny, she has remained unapologetically herself and has inspired so many people to embrace their individuality. Her unmistakable presence, creative vision, and everything the Versace brand represents have influenced me for years, so creating this portrait felt incredibly personal. This painting also marks both the beginning and the end of an important chapter in my work. When I started it, it introduced a new, more objective direction in my painting. Over the following three years, it inspired many of the works that came after it. Now, with its completion, that chapter comes to a close, making way for something new. The painting may never have become the “perfect” image I was chasing, but it taught me more about art, perfectionism, and myself than any other piece I’ve created.
