Spoken Movement Family Honour is screening tonight at Kino London Short Film Festival 2026.

The film is part of the Opening Night Gala of the festival at art’otel London Hoxton, kicking off four days of independent short film from filmmakers across the world.

And a particularly exciting moment for us, Kwame Asafo-Adjei has been nominated for Best Performance in a Drama for his work in the film. His performance carries so much of the film through movement, physicality and emotion, so it’s fantastic to see it recognised in its own right.

Very excited to see the film back on home ground and to open the festival alongside such a strong programme of work.

And congratulations to Kwame on the nomination, very well deserved.

SMAFF Awards 2026

On Saturday evening, the fifth edition of the St. Moritz Art Film Festival celebrated the winners of If Music at Dracula’s Ghost Riders Club.

The Best Art Film Prize was awarded ex aequo to Desire Lines by Tommy Malekoff and Silvesterchlausen by Andrew Norman Wilson.

Approaching questions of origins from opposite directions, the jury recognised the films for their singular visual languages, humour and intelligence, and their exceptional sensitivity to rhythm, place and collective behaviour. In both works, original recordings are stretched, amplified and looped into scores that form the structural skeleton of their visual narratives bringing them into an ideal dialogue with this years#’s theme.

The Love at First Sight Kulm Prize went to Spoken Movement Family Honour by Daniel Gurton, recognised for its emotional immediacy, compelling performances and ability to seize our attention from its opening moments.

The jury also gave a Special Mention to Recife Tem um Coração by Rodrigo Sena, a tender portrait of artistic perseverance, multigenerational community and popular culture as a living collective expression.

Congratulations to all the artists, and our thanks to this year’s jury composed by Ewa Hess, Skarlet Smatana and Desiré Feuerle for the attention, curiosity and conversation they brought to the programme.
