this year started horrible, but we came back crazy in 2025!

Big shoutout to @acrey.media for bringing my drive back. Also thanks to @danielkamyab and @weyrath192 for always being on my side. I’m finally in a circle where I can be my best self.

Starting @ueplusone wasn’t easy, and getting back to shooting regularly was even harder. Super thankful for everyone who trusted my vision, even with low numbers.

Autumn 2025: Arkadaşlık

This drop is inspired by the idea of friendship. By community and belonging. By best friends who help you through life and give it meaning. By chai and coffee, playing cards and tavla, smoky bars and clubs, long conversations and long nights.

Arkadaşlık (Turkish for friendship) describes the deep sense of community among people who feel like family. It is built on a strong collective identity, deep mutual loyalty, and the desire to support one another. It arises from the human need for belonging, togetherness, and affection.

In Turkish and Arab cultures, community traditionally holds a higher value than in Western culture. Close friends are referred to as brothers and sisters to express the depth of the bond. In Turkish, it is common to respectfully call an older friend Abi (“big brother”), and in Arabic, close friends are often addressed as Akh (literally “brother/friend”). These linguistic habits show how deeply familial terminology is used to describe friendship and community.

The integration of these words into the German language (often unconsciously) reflects the appreciation, connection, and adoption of certain cultural influences. It shows a growing desire to integrate this culture of community.

Let us cultivate and create places and moments of community as a response to loneliness and isolation in an increasingly individualized and digitalized society. Seeking genuine connections and belonging to counteract alienation. It is no coincidence that the oldest and happiest people are those who are surrounded by a strong social network.
