Jo, you took pain that so many of us carry quietly choked in silence and you gave it a voice. Thank you for bringing us together, for gathering such talent and tenacity around this story, and for making a difference before the film has even left the room. Thank you also to the @unauthorisedabsence team, the cast and the crew. You have built something powerful. Mother to mother, thank you 🫶 @jolovesdancing #UnauthorisedAbsence

Things I’ve learnt as a SEND mum 🤍📚 High School Edition! I genuinely had no idea how different the secondary school application process was for children with an EHCP until we started going through it ourselves! There are different deadlines, earlier decisions, extra paperwork and so many things you need to know before Year 6 even begins! We actually missed the opportunity to visit schools in Year 5, but luckily we’d already looked around them for an older sibling, so we had a good idea of what to expect. It’s definitely been a learning curve, and at times an emotional one too! 🥹 From navigating the paperwork to standing in the school car park chatting (and sometimes crying!) with other SEND mums, I’ve realised just how much we all learn from each other. 💕 I’m sharing a few things I’ve learnt along the way in the hope it helps another parent who might be starting this journey. Swipe through ➡️ and save this post for later! 💬 SEND parents, have you been through the secondary school transition? What advice would you give? Is there anything I’ve missed? Let’s help each other navigate it! 🤍 #sendmum #sendparenting #ehcp #secondaryschool #sendcommunity

❤️ A very recent and very chance encounter recently resulted in meeting @g_mu11en - pictured in this post. ❤️ Gaz is incredible - in memory of his brother whom sadly passed away last year, Gaz has and is riding from Bradford to Benidorm! ❤️ He’s riding his brothers mountain bike, which is not the bike of choice for such a long ride and he is supported by his dad in the van! ❤️ Today Gaz has his mates joining him@on this stage and on to Benidorm! ❤️ Why Benidorm? ❤️ Gaz’s brother wanted to go on a family road trip to Benidorm but sadly never got the opportunity to. ❤️ This ride is in his memory and in@his honour and is to raise money for those struggling with their mental health. ❤️ Please follow @g_mu11en and please donate if you can but please make sure you give this non-cycling, cycling legend a huge amount of love, respect and best wishes and please follow his journey (his posts are awesome) and please spread the word! 🫶🏾 Gaz you are a legend!🫶🏽 ❤️ Ps - he has one book with him …. it was a great choice. ❤️ ❤️ In full respect of Gaz and his challenge - this is our main and only post of the evening from us 🤜🏼🤛🏽

I genuinely don’t think I realised what I was creating when I started Thick No More. 🌶️ It started with my story. Being dyslexic. Being called thick. And wanting to talk openly about the things so many of us grew up believing about ourselves. But it’s becoming something much bigger than me. The guests are getting bigger. The conversations are getting bigger. And most importantly, more people are finding us. So this is the next chapter. More incredible guests. More uncomfortable conversations. More neurospicy stories. And absolutely no pretending to be something we’re not. Thick No More is growing up. 🌶️ And bloody hell… we’ve got some things coming. If you’ve been here from the beginning, thank you. ❤️ If you’ve just found us, welcome. The next chapter starts now. 🌶️ Follow. Share. And watch this space.

🚨 We’ve got an idea to share with breakfast cereal manufacturers. 🤩 Seems like there is plenty of spare space on packages that we think could be utilised! 🫶🏾 Please share and let’s see if anyone agrees from the breakfast cereal industry! 🫶🏽
