Into the Woods🌳 @morganwixson

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

and it’s time to leave the woods 👩🏽‍🍼🌳

thank you woods for the lovely and magical wander. this story we told is so beautiful to me because it is simply about what it means to live, and what it means to be human through the most eloquent portrayal of love, loss, warmth, fear and above all the importance of connection and community. living in this fairytale has been a glimmer of light these past few weeks. i never thought i could be so happy, and yet the support and love i have felt from this cast, creative team, crew, and audiences is all i could have wished for.

to my baker’s wife: what a gift it was to meet you in the woods. no character has ever resonated with me in the way you have, and i am eternally grateful for the hours i spent wishing for a child, falling in love again and again with my baker, justifying the beans, completing a quest in griffith park, meeting hungry little girls and dimwitted boys, finding beautiful maidens with golden slippers, stumbling upon princes, witches, long-lost in-laws, and giants, and having some unforgettable moments in the woods time and time again. i have fallen more in love with your story every show. your ambition, determination, bravery, cleverness, warmth, and resilience is something that i will carry with me for the rest of my life. you let me analyze my own perception of motherhood, endurance, marriage, and love. spending hours analyzing your complexity, finding your story, and creating your habits, mannerisms, and relationships has been one of the greatest gifts of my musical theatre journey. your ability to be incredibly nurturing and strong, caring and bold, and being such an independent, determined, young woman who also desires to be mother, be a wife, and to experience love is something so special to me and it is something that i will carry with me forever.

i loved being a quirky, millennial baker’s wife in 2026 LA for a few months. this show has been so healing for my black girl musical theatre heart. i am so excited to find you in the woods again.

if you know what you want then you go and you find it and you get it !

i wish!

i know we’ll get past the woods. and once we’re past, let’s hope the changes
