Last Friday, on a warm October evening, friends, family, and supporters gathered in a beautiful New Jersey garden to celebrate the launch of Flowerprint: The Wild, Wonderful World of Botanical Dyeing!

This book has been a labor of love, and sharing its arrival with the community that has supported, encouraged, and lifted me up along the way was truly magical. I can't express how grateful I am to everyone who came out to mark this special moment.

The evening was a joyful expression of all things floral, colorful, and creative, made possible by so many wonderful people. Gorgeous floral creations by @wildlyfloral.co wine generously provided by @lumscellars and @bonhomiewines, delicious food by my partner in love and life @alaindebeaufort and music by the one and only @jamesfthrone Photos by the incredible @lisawhitemanlens

A huge thank you to @daniellemariemasters & @thomas_the_dj for opening their gorgeous garden and making the evening possible.

Our first summer backyard fête featuring @balunband and @thomas_the_dj left me literally voiceless the next day. Dreaming up indie electronic Caribbean vibes for this show with @drift.afield and our incredible hosts @daniellemariemasters and @thomas_the_dj was too good to be true. It was the perfect summer party with sides of cheesy empanadas, cold popsicles, endless beverages and can’t stop won’t stop barefoot dancing under the summer moon wayyyyyy past the town’s noise ordinance 🤫

Backyard magic. Thanks to @drift.afield @didyouhearus @daniellemariemasters and @thomas_the_dj for a most gorgeous and blurry celebration of music and summer in the prettiest backyard in NJ. So much dancing was danced. ❤️

On Monday evening, Afield and @deltadialogues welcomed @drmaryclaire to SOMa to discuss her new book and the oft-neglected topic of menopause. The evening was educational, riveting and just a really marvelous time thanks to Dr. Haver’s insights and an impressive turnout of engaged attendees. We are so grateful to Dr. Haver for making her first trip out to New Jersey and sharing her valuable insights. We are also incredibly thankful for our lead sponsors, @avila.design.group and @pollockpropertiesgroup, and for our other generous sponsors, @botanicaboutique, @littlesaintsco, @glossier, @lorenzarose and @solo.jewelry.shop. @catesheehy commanded the stage as our moderator extraordinaire, and none of this would have happened without my other fellow Delta Dialoguers @daniellestlaurent and @chris.avila.h who really did work tirelessly behind the scenes. Evening Star Studio presents the exhibition, Dreaming of Me, showcasing ceramic works by eight artists exploring dreams, fantasies and nightmares.
The sculptures in the exhibition explore identity and narrative through dreaming. Dreams of sweetness and of dread act to fuel our imagination of self. Our most extreme horrors and immeasurable love can manifest in dreams. These eight artists illustrate through ceramic objects the wishes, magical creatures, fantasies and stories that help shape our ambitions. Dreams can turn dread and fear into caution and the gruesome into light. Dreams have the power to shape us, to serve as cautionary tales, to mirror our anxieties, to fuel courage and to create space for the impossible. As much as nightmares can rehash fear they can conjure joy. Through whimsy, the familiar, the magical and the dreadful we can find ourselves and the complexity of us in dreaming.
