🚨 If you are struggling to make time for exercise ⬇️ READ THIS ⬇️

I get it. Watching what you eat all year round isn’t fun and isn’t that easy.

But if you can always make the time (no, not find the time) to lift weights or train with some form of resistance, you’ll be able to maintain a muscular physique.

The benefit from going through a period of eating more (calorie surplus) will result in you likely gaining more muscle. Of course if you take the piss that’ll come with a lot of unwanted fat gains. But at least with the presence of a solid workout routine, you’ll gain muscle.

In the same way, when your calories are lower you’ll avoid getting skinny and losing muscle. Of course some muscle is inevitable in a calorie deficit but that will be massively reduce so long as you keep the resistance training and most importantly, train hard with it.

For me and my clients, we’ve agreed that the exercising is actually the easy part. Where as the dieting is less fun and requires more discipline. 1 hour in the gym versus 23 hours of choosing what to or what not to eat. It kinda makes sense when you say it out loud which is going to be more challenging and allow for more room for error 😂

So, I suggest this week whatever or wherever you are at with your nutrition right now, continue or start making more time to hit the resistance training hard and go make some gains. 💪🏼

If you want to work your triceps, there are better ways to go.⁣
⁣
Of course the Close-Grip Bench Press will use some triceps involvement as your extend your arms, but so does your conventional Bench Press hand position.⁣
⁣
I suggest if you really want to bigger triceps, factor in some time to isolate them through extension exercises such push-down's, overhead extensions, etc.⁣
⁣
If anything, I would recommend using the Close-Grip Bench Press as a chest/pectorals exercise. Especially if:⁣
⁣
1. You are looking for some variation from a long time spent conventional Bench Pressing⁣
⁣
2. If you have any shoulder issues that don't allow you to Bench Press in a wider position. In the past moving to a Close-Grip has allowed me to work around some shoulders injuries/niggles⁣

1) No matter how much you train, until you are eating enough and consistently in a calorie surplus, 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍 will you be in a position to build muscle!⁣
⁣
2) In the early years, don't stress yourself by trying to stay shredded all year round! You need time to grow. Gain the bulk of your muscle mass in your earlier years and save the shreds for when you have more mass to play with.⁣
⁣
3) Start tracking your calories on macros on 𝘔𝘺𝘍𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘗𝘢𝘭 ASAP - you can't manage what you don't measure! Yes it means weighing your food and logging everything you eat onto app, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐒𝐎 𝐅***𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝗪𝐇𝐀𝐓?! Small price to pay for more gains!⁣
⁣
4) The weight you move, is less important than 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝗪𝐀𝐘 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐓! Focus on building a strong foundation by learning good form and exactly how to execute exercises.⁣
⁣
5) Suck up your ego and hire a coach. No, this is not a plug for coaching with me. Any coach! Find someone who has been there, done it and even better, still doing it! Save your time and money now rather than wasting years like I did winging it & going it alone.⁣

🔸The pic on the left sums it up: partying and raving were my biggest priorities 🤪 Don’t get me wrong, I still love doing that but in moderation; I work hard and it’s now a reward. I didn’t have a career, direction, motivation, work ethic, goals or an amazing girlfriend like I do now. I was lazy! These traits didn’t just magically come to me, far from it. It took time, hard graft and self-development and this is still an ongoing process. The picture on the right represents the change that has taken place in recent years and it’s not just about the physical. I still have a long way to go to achieve what I want in life. Take one day at a time, control that day and don’t leave things to chance 💪🏼⠀

🔸 Are you finding that your back is lacking a little in the symmetry department? In other words, is one side more developed than the other?⠀

🔸Training bilaterally, as in with a fixed barbell or long bar attachment, can have the effect of allowing the stronger side of your body to do slightly more work than the weaker one, creating a visual imbalance in your musculature. Training unilaterally can solve this problem. Doing so will give you great symmetry to your back and the one arm row is great for this!⠀ ⠀
