I’ve spent a lot of time being perceived and have fallen into what seems to be a pattern of being misunderstood - a hard thing to reckon with. this song explores exactly that …

I switched to a new high school in grade 10 and was not embraced there. my safe spaces were music and drama class and I usually spent lunch alone. the people who talked badly about me back then now think I’m killing it …somehow in the mix I grew into someone other people think of as a “cool girl”. but I still don’t feel like that

In recent years several people have written songs about me. some beautiful and full of love, and some not so kind. this song contains my response. I’ve also projected onto other when it wasn’t fair for me to do so. We all do it.

I’m not the type of person everyone likes. I’m polarizing. but I’ll take that any day over people being indifferent. & the cost of putting yourself out there as a person and an artist is the possibility of being falsely perceived. I’m okay with that. let me be a mirror for you <3

The beautiful @danikabs wore the Lux necklace on her wedding day recently 🫶 I can’t believe people want to wear things i’ve made on their most important day !!! it was even more special because she bought it from @sxc.showroom whilst i was working and we got to discuss it together :))
