New music drops 11/1/26. This is the first single from a collection of songs I made up at the piano. “Ocean Blue” was cowritten by @johncowanmusic produced by @duanelundy (and myself), with @roddypuckett on bass and @danimarkham on drums… plus featured guest @maggienoellemusic … and you won’t even have to spell Bibelhauser to find it 💙 🌊 #aaronwayne

Welcome Dani Markham to the Ludwig artist roster.

A touring, studio, and clinician artist based in Louisville, Dani began playing drums and gigging at age eight with the Louisville Leopard Percussionists. She later earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music under Dr. Ney Rosauro.

Dani has toured internationally with artists including Tune-Yards and is currently a member of Childish Gambino. She performed with Childish Gambino at the 2018 Grammy Awards and has written and recorded on multiple albums.

Her work has also been recognized by Modern Drummer, including a feature in the December 2020 issue and a 2021 Readers Poll nomination in the Pop category.

When she’s not touring or recording, Dani continues to teach with the Louisville Leopard Percussionists.

We’re excited to officially welcome Dani to the Ludwig artist roster.

A Few of Us is out everywhere now!

This has always been more than a song to me. I think, for a long time, it was this golden thread I hoped we would all somehow follow back home to each other as we got older.

I wrote it as a young man. I’m a little bit of an older man now. And somehow, in twelve years of singing it, the song has barely changed. I have.

I think about all the people I’ve gotten to look in the eyes while singing this. I’ve sung it for people in their eighties. I’ve sung it for people who were just about to graduate high school or college, leave home, move to some new city, or head off toward some big grand adventure.

All these different intersections of human experience.

And somewhere along the way I realized that everybody has some version of this feeling as they get older. There’s something about this song that tugs at the more innocent parts of us, but it also somehow transcends the time that passes in your story. It just meets you where you’re at.

Over the years, A Few of Us has become less of a title and more of an attitude. A little mantra. My band is a few of us. My chosen family is a few of us. The people who have carried this dream with me are a few of us. And now, if you’re listening, you are too.

I couldn’t be more excited to finally send this little piece of my Appalachian home out into the world.

Hey all! Many of you know this fine Kentucky gentleman right here, but for the uninitiated this is my friend @aaronbibelhauser - one of the best and most prolific musicians and songwriters I've had the pleasure of knowing. He has a new album coming out, and I had the privilege to record on it alongside some of my very favorite folks in the scene.

Join us at @themonarch_music Nov. 1 for the record release show, and grab your tickets early - see y'all there ❤️

One of the greatest gifts I’ve been given this year is having a band full of famil(y)…iar voices behind me. The voices of dearest friends & chosen family.

We’ve sung this song for more than 40,000 people this year, and every night it’s felt like an invitation into what we were about to try to do together..

Peace.

If only for a few minutes.

I hope some of that followed you home. I’ll bring some of my KY peace with me to Portland this WknD! @timmytychilders #snipehunt ✨🖤🫡
