This past year marked the very first year of Turning To Peace, and what began as a quiet vision became a living, breathing space of support for those walking through spousal betrayal trauma. Over 60 professionals stepped forward to contribute their wisdom, care, and lived experience, creating a magazine rooted in hope, healing, and truth.

Because of you, readers found practical tools for emotional regulation, faith anchored encouragement, validation for their pain, and reminders that they are not alone. This first year confirmed something we deeply believe. Healing happens in safe community, one honest step at a time.

As we enter this new year, my hope is simple. That Turning To Peace continues to be a steady companion for those navigating heartbreak, rebuilding trust with themselves, and learning how to move forward with strength and clarity.

Betrayal. Many of us encounter it at various times through our life and it can be some of the worst pain we may ever walk through. There’s something about having someone you’ve grown to trust take advantage of that bond and turn against you and everything you’ve built up to that point that just hits the soul like nothing else. Whether at work, in dating, marriage, parenting, friendship, or even religious community, betrayal always cuts deep.

But the truth is, unless we learn how to properly navigate betrayal without letting it close us off permanently to love and life in all forms, we will continue to give the person or situation that hurt us power over us that will only wound us further and keep us from healing.

I’m joined in a special episode of Grace Moments this week with holistic practitioner, Dani Peterson, who is here to share her own story of finding her way to healing after a massive betrayal in her first marriage. This will be an insightful conversation about forgiveness, honesty, and learning to move forward when the ones you love the most have stolen your deepest confidence.

I truly love sister time the humans I’ve met through community who embody so much grace and love in all that we do together. We connect through our sisterhood masterminds once a month to share our wins, our goals, prayers, struggles and the ways we show up for one another. I’m endlessly grateful for these women and their presence in my life.

Dani is one of them. I met her through trauma-informed recovery and the Kate Shipp Method, and I feel so blessed to know her. She continues to be such a bright light. Please check her out @danimpeterson she offers so many beautiful practices and coaching around betrayal and other healing practices that truly serve the heart.

She’s a beautiful human and a devoted Guide who has spent countless hours supporting others on their journeys, as well as doing her own deep work. When we do that, when we walk the path ourselves, we serve from a place of truth and love. And that’s exactly who she is.

I’m so grateful for her precious presence today. Her friendship means so much. It’s been a full weekend of sisterhood, service, connection, love and I am blessed to be here.

Live and Love,
Heidi ✨🙏🩵🦄✨

Navigating the Holiday Season with Care: An Embodied Approach 🙏

The holidays can stir up a mix of joy and challenge — family dynamics, old memories, expectations, and the quiet pressure to “be okay.” For those in recovery or healing, this season can feel especially tender.

This 2-hour workshop offers a safe space to prepare your heart and body with intention.
Together we will:

✓ Explore the emotional obstacles that often surface during the holidays.

✓Engage in embodied practices to move out of your head and into presence.

✓ Learn practical tools like journaling prompts, breathwork, and grounding strategies.

✓ Close with a peaceful meditation to anchor calm and clarity.

You’ll leave with simple, powerful practices that help you care for yourself first — so you can show up more grounded, present, and held in grace as you gather with others.

Embodied Reset: Somatic Work & Meditation 🙏

On this journey of healing, recovery, and reclaiming who we are, it’s so easy to hold stress and pain in our bodies without even realizing it. That’s why an embodied reset matters. Join me for a gentle and restorative 60-minute class designed to help you reset your body, mind, and spirit. Through simple movement, intentional breathwork, and a short guided meditation, you’ll be invited to release what you’re carrying and reconnect with yourself.

For those on a recovery path, I intentionally bring in somatic work, as I work with individuals holistically. I believe there is more than just “talking” about our pain and struggles. Through breath, movement, meditation and the like, we can access deeper places within to move stuck energy so we might come into greater personal awareness and wholeness.

This class is about you making time for you. No prior experience is needed — simply come as you are. Whether you’re looking for a moment of peace, a reset from stress, or a way to deepen your self-care and recovery, this space is for you.
