Danielle Watson spent more than 20 years in professional sport as a tennis coach and biomechanics specialist before burnout brought him to a stop. She walked into a camera store in Melbourne one quiet afternoon, bought a DSLR without a plan, and photographed her eight week old kelpie. The images travelled further than expected and something clicked.

The years since have been serious and deliberate. A Master's degree pushed her well beyond technical skill into meaning, artist statements and immersive presentation. Working alongside Ken Duncan taught her discipline, storytelling and the responsibility of making work someone might choose to live with for years. Film and a Hasselblad system slowed her process and sharpened her intent.

In this episode Dani talks about co-founding Irid Gallery to present limited edition fine art photography at art fairs, moving from grand dramatic vistas toward atmosphere and aerial abstraction, and why she now makes far fewer images than she used to.

I hope you enjoy the show!

The best ideas in your business rarely come from more hours at your desk. They come from stepping AWAY from it.

You block out a day to think, and by 9:15am you’re answering messages, emails, then a “quick call” that eats your morning.

That’s why I started Lock Yourself In Pentridge & Get It Done Day!

Holding it at Pentridge is quite fitting. It used to be a prison, and for one day, you’re locking yourself in , not behind the bluestone walls, but to get your important work done! ( a 5 star refurb makes it easy to do that!)

One of the best parts of the day is our Growth Huddles.

A room of experienced business women. One real challenge, shared out loud. We dig past the surface to what’s actually going on, and then the ideas start flowing. Fast.

The best solutions aren’t always new. They’re often just unseen, and it can take someone outside your business to spot them.

One challenge. Twenty possibilities. You Choose.

Sometimes the answer isn’t a new idea. It’s a fresh set of eyes.

Individually brilliant. Together unstoppable!

📅 Get It Done Day, 7 October, Pentridge
💰 Save up to $100 . EARLY BIRD ends this Sunday 16 Sunday unless sold out prior. (almost 2/3 of seats sold already)

Come along, bring your real challenge and leave with clarity ! Lock yourself in before Sunday 16 August ! LINK IN BIO

What an incredible afternoon at Marnong Estate.

We were honoured to welcome @lydialassila, who shared her inspiring journey of resilience, leadership, reinvention, and the lessons learned both on and off the world stage.

More than just a speaker event, the afternoon brought together an incredible community of women from across Victoria to connect, learn, and share meaningful conversations in a beautiful setting.

A sincere thank you to Lydia for her honesty, insight, and generosity, and to everyone who joined us and helped create such a warm and inspiring atmosphere.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to our Principle Partners, @mb3point and @ray_white_craigieburn, for their valued support in helping bring this event to life.

At Marnong, we believe some of the most memorable experiences happen when great people come together, and this was certainly one of them.

We look forward to welcoming you back for many more inspiring events to come.

New Work | Sneak Peek

A quiet reveal of something new.

“Some new work that I am exploring as part of my project The Land of Elemental Beauty… exploring abstract aerials throughout Australia. This is the first time showing this, which feels special—and it’s one of my favourites.”

Part of an evolving body of work where form, texture, and light dissolve into something more instinctive than literal.

A moment of letting it exist beyond the process.

One of those works that lingers.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the image…
it’s deciding how it lives on the wall.

Each frame shifts it—
subtle, but enough to change the feeling entirely.

Sometimes it’s not just what you see—
it’s how it holds the space around it.

The frame, the light, the stillness…
all quietly shifting the way it’s felt.
