11 Years ago I saw Rush for the 7th and what I believed to be last time during their R40 Tour in Toronto. When they announced this new tour I couldn't believe I'd have another shot at seeing them. Not only that, me and my crazy friends planned 2 whole trips to see 4 shows.

This past weekend in Chicago, let me just say, absolutely incredible. Was able to see them twice, got a little emotional when Xanadu started, they paid tribute to Neil (RIP to the GOAT,) and Anika absolutely CRUSHED it. Incredible weekend, can't wait for Toronto!

P.S. if anyone wants to go see Rush, keep me in mind 😂

Back to using adult sized cams. Carey Corner is a favorite. Like Goggins says “…triple down on your weaknesses”. I guess that means 3 laps to callous the mind…..

Had a fun morning w my adventure buddy. Started w Chloe’s first time climbing. Thanks Dan and fam for meeting up w us. Followed by putting together a fruit salad as suggested by Chloe. All before noon…it was a fun dad day ❤️

ICON OF THE MONTH. WOAH. I’m absolutely honored and grateful that my story and work have been given this platform @iconfitmagazine

For those of you who don’t know, I have dedicated my entire professional career to helping colleges students experiencing family estrangement and housing insecurity. I’ve been doing this work since 2014, and founded @foster_independence_foundation back in 2021.

💪This work is for elementary school Alex who used to hang her personal belongings in a garbage bag outside her bedroom window because she never knew when her parents would kick her out and not let her back home.

💕This work is for high school Alex who kept everything in the locker room and worked her butt off as an AP student, varsity athlete, honor society pres, and community service 👸(despite instability, abuse, and being kicked out frequently) so that she could go to college, cut contact with her parents at 17 and create a better life.

💪This work is for college Alex who couch surfed, slept in her junkyard car, snuck into dorms and spent nights sleeping in the library while navigating a double major, 80 hour work weeks, depression, anxiety, loneliness, a broken back and an eating disorder, and despite all that was told that college wasn’t the right place for her and she would never get into grad school, and did it anyway 💪 😉

💕This work is for grad school Alex who dedicated her capstone project to conducting research on the needs, barriers and existing resources nationwide for students in similar situations.

🥰This work is for everyone who has become a mentor along the way and helped me become who I am today 🥰

🥰This work is for the hundreds of students I have worked with, mentored and helped since then in an effort to prevent them from going through what I went through, and to help them discover their own resourcefulness and resilience.

😊 I am so grateful to have the opportunity to create this impact, and I’m just getting started.
