i wrote this the day after i moved to LA in 2024. i was having regrets cause i had spent four years packing up my life and restarting somewhere new again and again. then my dear friend @danloump told me to stfu (lovingly) and threw my ass in the studio.

whether I took a chance on myself or was forced to restart by circumstances beyond my control, every version of me gained a fuller life, even if I lost a lot along the way.

this is my first release since 2024, so it really does feel like i’m starting over. if you’re new here or been here, thanks for listening. i hope you enjoy this new chapter. more to come :)

‘BIG MAD’ by @transviolet is out NOW! This probably my favorite record I’ve ever had the honor of taking part in. I loved making this record from start to finish and am so happy with how it turned out. Sarah is a genius and her razor sharp writing and ear made an absolutely monster album. Produced by myself and @danloump. Featuring the always ferocious @aaronsteele_damn. Mixed by @dvncy. Mastered by @tessgreenham. Please go check this out

The album is out!! This is how I looked! This is how I felt! This is who I made it with! This is a moment in time!

I think the point of this album is: when everything else is stripped away and you’re not making decisions based upon any input but your own, who are you really? When you’re down to the bare minimum and everything around you feels completely desolate, who are you? When you have a million roads ahead of you, will you hover in purgatory forever or commit to a choice, and let yourself change your mind if you decide that’s not who you are? When you’re listening I hope it brings some stuff up for you. There are very few decisions in life that we can’t change our minds about.

My sophomore album Runaway Jane is out now. I did things a little differently with this record, which sometimes made me feel rushed and insane but also meant that the time between when I wrote these songs and now is as little as possible. I feel more like the person who made this than I ever have with a release. This album taught me about art, independence, trusting your gut, and having the courage to make decisions just as much as the courage to change your mind. Listen everywhere now ☀️

Runaway Jane was executive produced by me & @mattsburner
Drums on all songs performed by @jarrrs
Gold Rush, Truck, Strangers, The Worm, and Happy Birthday mixed by @tudznsudz
didanyofithappen, Another New Beginning, Spirals, and What If I Change My Mind? mixed by @robertadamstevenson
Mastered by @magicgardenmastering
