Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our #SGSAHMILLPORT24 Photo competition 📸

Everyone’s photos were absolutely stunning, but in the end, only a few could claim the winning prizes! 🏆

Special edition pencils were given to runners up @rebeccacornwell and @laurzzs for their beautiful B&W beach and Waverley photos respectively, but our winner for 2024 was @rachaeltarrant95 with their ingenious photo of chocolate frogs in a cosy sandcastle 🐸

Rachael was awarded with a plush dolphin that came with a hand knitted hat from a @waverleyexcursions volunteer 🥇

Don’t forget to admire our other gorgeous entries by @galageorgettephotography @dannibeans, Meike Van Lit and Heather Ford!

We all had a fantastic few days at Millport this year! We’re already counting the days until we can return with next year’s cohort ⛴️

Sound on! 🔊 the music for this is from the track "Slowness" by @frincess, such a beautiful track by a phenomenal musician.
.
.
I wrote this about feeling like I'd lost myself, floating in the emptiness after a break up, realising I'd given so much of myself that after it was all over, there was none of me left for me....rip ☠️
.
.
I told my ex that they reminded me of the sea, I did this painting (slide 2) for them and found it on the floor in their studio with food spilled on it not long after gifting it. After we broke up I realised the sea was my own projection of who I wanted them to be, and who I thought they were. That's all I was left with. It's good to have distance from these memories to appreciate what me from 2019 was going through now! 🙏🏽❤️

.
Sea stock footage by @enrique.v.hoyos from @pexels. Music sampled from Ana Roxanne's track "Slowness". Poem and video written and edited by me 🐢 painting by me, acrylic on watercolour block.

Sound on! 🔊I wrote this back in 2019 when I felt like life had thrown me around like a ragdoll. I didn't realise what was in store for me in the new year....
.
Grieving, loss, stress, mental health, love...forced change and a lack of stimulation. When I look back at the poem now, it's almost like a prophecy.
.
Shout out to the word sisaphysian - if you know more big words to help me sound like I've more than 2 books lemme know yeah 🐢
.
.
Written and edited by me 🥰 Music by and starring Mariana Knight as Kissing Lady.
