@doctorvictorsound & @dannisaeberg at a very special gig last Sunday, called Graeni Dagur. Green is the colour to show your solidarity, because this memorable event in their 'home gym' is in memory of a little boy, who left the world way too soon. 💚🤍🕊

We send his family many hugs, blessings and appreciation for this beautiful tradition. 🫂

Monday last week, I began a new class in my studies focused on Olympic weightlifting and strength training, taught by a legend in the sport, Dietmar Wolf. He’s a former national team coach and a true elite in terms of experience and knowledge. We spent months studying, but the real highlight was a 6-day intensive cycle where we worked with him in person to practice techniques and explore creative ways to improve form, mobility, and flexibility in these movements. The cycle spanned 6 days, with 3 hours of training every day, totaling 18 hours. The physical toll was evident after just one day with him. However, it was fascinating to experience how the intensive sessions shocked not only our bodies but our nervous system, psychological system, and mental abilities to digest information and continue training. During these 18 hours, we focused on repeating exercises, loading weights, and experimenting with different loads and movements. One of the most intriguing aspects was the Asymmetric lifts, where we loaded different weights on each side. For example, in the squat, we would load 30kg on the right side and 15kg on the left side. This exercise primarily targeted deep core muscles, often overlooked but crucial for maintaining balance and stability in movements. The Asymmetric lifts were a new experience for me, and I plan to incorporate them at least once a week. I also prioritized good nutrition, hydration, and a balance of vitamins and minerals during the week, which likely helped me get through the intensive training without major issues. Although I still feel some muscle soreness and a bit of exhaustion, it’s a new week, and I’m ready to get going again!
Now, it’s time to put into practice what I’ve learned, improve my technique, and see where that takes me! Overall, this class is highly educational, and it’s an honor to learn from someone of Dietmar Wolf’s caliber. I’m confident that this experience will significantly contribute to my fitness journey. Happy Monday everyone! ❤️💪 #olympiclifts #strengthandconditioning #strenghtraining
