My journey began as a shy kid on a council estate, avoiding confrontation. I took up boxing for two reasons: to stand up for myself and to make my family proud after facing trouble with the police at a young age.

Leaving school with few GCSEs, I bounced from laboring to glazing, postman to delivery driver. My passion was boxing, so I chose jobs that fit my training, not my future. After 15 years of amateur boxing, I transitioned to the professional ranks, leaving my amateur club because they didn’t support pros. Thankfully, my dad was there, a brilliant coach and my trusted support.

In my garden, I trained through wind, rain, and snow for my first three pro fights until we built a home gym. As my client base grew, I was 8-0 and took the leap to start my first business—Box Sport London. My naivety about running a business became an asset; my passion for the gym and boxing kept me going, even when making ends meet was tough.

But when I became a dad, boxing took a back seat. Just as I stepped back into my groove after a significant win, COVID hit. Lockdowns meant I couldn’t box or open my gym, and I had a second daughter to support. I needed a new income, leading me to apply for the fire service.

This decision brought challenges, including retaking my English and math exams. After passing, I began two years of rigorous training. Transitioning from self-employment to service was daunting. It tested my confidence, but family came first—I kept pushing for them.

Now, five years later, Box Sport London thrives. I’ve established a boxing academy in schools, teaching kids life skills in a tech-driven world. I’ve also started an amateur boxing club that’s blossoming thanks to dedicated coaches.

If you told me I’d become a pro boxer, firefighter, gym owner, pro boxing coach and father, I wouldn’t have believed it. I share my story to emphasize self-belief, hard work, and resilience. I aimed for boxing legend status; now, I strive to be a legend for my kids and community. Remember, if I can do it, so can you! Stop waiting for the perfect moment—go get what you deserve!
