6/18 | I Finally posted my own film scans from @sq_film premiere of Me & My BIG MUG. Here’s the story of the editing process:

When I received the film scans, I didn’t like them. It was partially my fault because some photos were underexposed, however the scans and the touch-ups behind it gave me little room for correction. I retrieved my film strips to scan them myself. (My first time doing this. I only developed, never scanned before)

I already had my Camera (Sony FX30) to use as a scanner. I needed a backlight for color accuracy and fidelity, so I purchased the @cinestillfilm CS Lite and a tripod.

I then used DaVinci Resolve to convert the film negatives. It was challenging because DaVinci is known as video editing software, but conveniently, they released a photo editor update just in time.

I learned new techniques from this process that can support my color grading work for video. Film photography and the post-production process helped me see everything differently now as a cinematographer and editor🎨

Danny!! YOU'RE awesome too - and I couldn't have said my self-taping ethos better! Big Love dude and always happy to help ❤️

For me Self taping hasn't always been fun - there are so many unanswered questions sent out to the void BUT once you find your vibe, your flow, its the BEST freeing fun thing out there! 🌟🎬

Have a watch - DM me if you need a sesh! 🫡
