This FREE carnival was actually part of something much bigger. 🎡 Throughout the summer, Open Streets New Haven has been bringing a series of events to downtown New Haven designed to give us more reasons to come outside, spend time together, and experience the city differently. This weekend brought the carnival to the Lower Green with rides, games, music, food, prizes and local vendors—all completely free to attend. Open Streets programming has been curated with Sweets & Sounds Entertainment and the City of New Haven Economic Development Department, creating spaces that aren’t just fun, but give people another opportunity to interact with each other and support the small businesses that make New Haven what it is. And that’s really what I loved most. Events like this get people outside. We eat from local vendors, discover businesses we may not have known about, run into neighbors, bring our families and actually spend time enjoying the city together. This is what our public spaces are for. More of this, New Haven. Please. 🫶🏽 If you want to see events like this continue, show them some love comment, share, and most importantly, support the vendors when you see them around the city.#newhavenct #foodie #carnival
