Danny came to London and @olijenson made these quiet portraits of us. The colors reminded me of childhood bedrooms—my mom said yellow would make us more creative—, of the piano CDs she used to play for us, of mulberries crushed into gravel outside my window. And of a bored trance, all summer long, under ceiling fan and willow tree (or maybe that’s just this weather).

As part of a wider project I’ve been brewing on for a while now. I’ve been obsessed with the way the skylight and walls in this building shoot for ages.

I’ve also found myself really enjoying shooting and directing multiple people at once lately, especially when they have a personal connection like these two do as brothers. There’s something patient and a bit quieter about it.
