NEW solo album ARCADE out 20 March! Singer/strummer for Danny & The Champs/Grand Drive/BWP & solo and I run Looking For The Magic Record shop 🚀

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Here I am ‘on my own’ about to embark on 4 solo shows via train again. The first gig tonight is aboard the beauty that is the lighthouse vessel 21 @lightvessel21 docked in Chatham home of Mr. Billy Childish ( I’m thinking I might do a song of his that I love hmmm…. 🤔 )
What will I play tonight 💫
The unpredictable nature of gigs in general, why are they all so different?
The thought of tonight’s has already allowed me the indulgence of repeated listens to this classic by Patti Labelle & Michael McDonald. TUNE!!!!!
Their voices together! 💕I love duets. I’m a sucker for them and these kind, the absolute classics.
Doing my best at channelling some Doobie doobness on slide 3 🙃

Anyways, I do really like travelling by train especially with my trusty trolley, I’ve never learned to drive you see.
Maybe I will rectify that in 2027?
I’m already sat here making new year dreams and schemes like lists on my phone.

Where else but @whereelsespace in Margate with @lo__barnes tomorrow night then even more seaside action in Hastings on Saturday @thepipercalls with pals @tmandhl
That video you guys posted made me tear up 😭 I’m hoping @dannythechamp will come hang and join us & St Albans on Sunday @hornvenue Let’s do this! 💥🤘🏼💥
Oh and if you’re in Manchester go see Angie @angelagangela slay in the @miniseriesmusic at The Eagle on Saturday 🚀

Wonderful to catch up with our old mate @dannythechamp last night at @no_18tamworth where he played a truly great acoustic set, both he and his music always seem to inspire me and provide an emotional boost.
Some souls are just good to be around, Danny is that person.
A beautiful night.
Until next time…..

We can't wait to play again with our fellow lifer @romeostodart of the mighty @themagicnumbers at @thepipercalls in St. Leonards on Sat October 24th.
(tickets linktr.ee/TMANDHL)

We go way back. Here is the opening scene from a film I made on the road with @themagicnumbers and @dannythechamp way back in 2011.

I shot it all on my dad's old Hi8 VHS camera, which I stole (sorry Dad). All in 3 second clips throughout the days to show the real rhythm of life on the road.

In a parallel universe these guys are still in that sticky floored dressing room singing their hearts out. And will be forever.

You can see the whole film here:

What a day, @thelongroadfest - torrential rain, blue skies, Ronnie Wood. Never mind the weather, we had a blast.

And going on stage while Ronnie was blasting Sweet Virginia and Dead Flowers in the distance was quite surreal and beautiful.

Thanks for having us.

Great to catch up with the @loose_music crew too — a fine bunch!
