Presenting: Punk, Goth, Rebel and Queer – the Years of Dance to the Underground

Info: Between the years of 2022 and 2024, the Dance to the Underground club night was a fantastical land of punk and goth aesthetic, queer transgression and riotous over the top performance. From the basement of the legendary Fibber’s bar came a scream of rebellion in a new, barrier-breaking language. Photographer Al Fartukh spent those years documenting the club and will present their 35mm film photography and analogue video at GalleryX in January.

Proudly done with the support of @photomuseumirl

Where? Gallery X, 11 Hume Street, Dublin.

When? Opening night is the 15th of January 2026 from 6-9pm. Open to visit from the 16th to the 31st of January 2026 during usual gallery opening hours.

I’m doing my first ever solo show!!! I have been keeping this delicious secret for months and now that the date is finally getting closer I can reveal it to all of you! I owe @dance.to.the.underground so much for being the place where I began my photography career and with many years of parties captured on film it was time to commemorate the nights long gone. Thank you to @galleryxdublin for seeing my vision and hosting my work soon. You are all invited to the opening night and if I don’t catch you there I hope to see you on the other days when the gallery is a little quieter ❤️‍🔥
Also thank you to @countbellalublowsi for being the perfect poster girl for the show!

Get ready for Dublins silliest Drag king, Dan the Man! Towering the stage at his very respectable height... (of 5'1) Dan loves everything campy, silly and a little bit Culchie. This neurodivergent king can't wait to perform for NeuroPride!

Right we’ve done the look, let’s do the gigs! 👯‍♀️

I broke my own record working four gigs across one day/night and it wasn’t easy! but connecting with each crowd and bringing them together over tunes for Pride was like nothing else. I loved every minute of it. Thank you to all the promoters and venues (and taxi drivers) that looked after me!! To the dolls I shared the stage with through the day, I love you all so much.

And also, I’m now based in London! LDN based friends or visitors please hmu and let’s do something fun! Ireland based bookers, I’ll be back and forth so let’s keep in touch 💚

"IDKC talking about getting into Drag, Drag King history, and more! 👑

Three of the IDKC had the pleasure of being on 'Come In' with @dilwickremasinghe , an amazing live podcast discussing the less talked about topics in the LGBTQ+ community. Kenny Todgers and Butch Chastive were live in the studio, and Slick O' called in on the hotline!

🎧 Link in bio

They discussed their journey into Drag, the essence of IDKC, marching in upcoming Prides, and much more! It was an absolute honor to have IDKC Kings included alongside such an incredible lineup of guests on this show. Huge thanks to Dil for shining the spotlight on the Kingdom! ✨

👋 Special shout out to @dragkinghistory @mrmobdick & @philtgorgeous

The original air date was today, but it was broadcast last Sunday. Check it out now and explore other episodes too!

👉 DM us if you're interested in marching. Kings, Things, and Allies welcome. Our collective Pride is growing, and we're here for it!
🎭 See IDKC live @brodnagael 5th July
