It’s an artform that really does require so much thought and effort! I truly do have unending respect for the dancers and the fact that they show up everyday to work and grow!

Thank you, John, for having us here at your festival, and to the entire Festspielhaus team for your incredible support throughout our stay. It means so much to the company to be here in Baden-Baden, a place our dancers always love returning to.

From the work in the studio to the performances on stage, there has been so much dedication, care and passion from everyone involved. Performing The Nutcracker is always such a joy for the company, and seeing the entire Hamburg Ballet team give it their all has made this visit especially rewarding.

The support we receive from the Festspielhaus is enormous, as it always is. We are so grateful for the effort behind the scenes and for everyone who helped bring these performances to life.

Thank you for making this such a fantastic tour. We can’t wait to be back next season!

Her focus, his concentration. Ballet is an art of pure dedication and love. Tonight, Charlotte Larzerele makes her debut in The Nutcracker, dancing the role of Louise. „toi, toi, toi Charlotte!“
(Partnered here by Daniele Bonelli, dancing the role of Drosselmeier)

✨ The World of John Neumeier ✨

We are delighted to be returning to Baden-Baden this year as part of the festival “The World of John Neumeier”!

From October 1 to 11, the Hamburg Ballet will present a varied programme at the Festspielhaus and other venues across the city.

The highlight: John Neumeier’s DER NUSSKNACKER on October 9, 10 and 11. Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, his interpretation transforms the familiar Christmas story into a coming-of-age tale and a homage to classical ballet and Marius Petipa.

✨ We look forward to seeing you in Baden-Baden!

I still believe there is a place for both — and perhaps the things we choose to print become all the more meaningful because of it.

Print feels almost like a luxury today. Something physical, considered and lasting in a world that increasingly lives on screens. There is something special about holding a publication in your hands — its weight, texture and permanence.

At the same time, digital has changed the way we communicate for good reason: it is immediate, accessible, adaptable and, in many cases, can mean producing less.

So perhaps it doesn’t have to be a question of print or digital. Maybe it is simply about being more conscious of what deserves to exist physically, and what is better left to the digital world.

Looking back on past publications, I’m reminded that some things are worth holding on to.
