POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thank you to everyone who showed up to Tuesday’s event, & made it a great time! Feels like we’re cooking up a cool lil annual tradition for everyone in the area to pull up, get some grub, catch up with the homies you haven’t seen in a minute, & do a lil skating! Hopefully yall enjoyed what we’ve built so far… & we got a lot more coming, this is just the beginning!

Also, here are the raffle winners!!! You can claim your prize at @need_skateboarding_akron anytime during their business hours. I read through everyone’s suggestions, & there was a lot of great ideas in there. As always, if you have any questions about what we’re doing, build days, how you can help, etc, please shoot me a DM on here or pull me aside if you see me at the park! We want anyone who wants to be involved to be involved, & for everyone in our community to have a voice in what we’re doing. Without y’all & your support, there would be no Prentiss DIY! Thanks for all the good vibes this week, & a huge thank you to anyone who popped out to help set up, build the ramps, or cleaned!

So as most people have heard the blimp hanger bought the race track the baseball fields and yes our skatepark. In a post that reads
.
.

"This is a post that a Track Operator and Board of Directors never wanted to make. Over the past few weeks. A rumor has been circulating that the property we are currently located at, along with the skate park and ball fields will be sold to accompany that now resides in the air doc (blimp hanger) on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023, we received confirmation of this rumor.

Although we have been told we will be able to complete the 2023 season, we are currently unaware of the ongoing status of our lease.

Akron BMX has called our current location home since 1985
We are actively working with USA BMX, our city and our CVB to ensure the ongoing legacy of Akron BMX, whether that is at our current location or a new one.

Unfortunately, we do not have any other information at this time, but we can tell you this:

At this point, we are asking everyone to trust the process and let us work through the correct channels. When the time comes for us to ask for your support, we will, and we hope that the BMX family turns out in droves.
Looking forward to a great season.
