Celebrating Excellence:

The HER Awards Honors South Florida’s Elite Female Student-Athletes

South Florida, FL — In a powerful celebration of achievement, leadership, and resilience, the South Florida Tournament of Champions proudly presents the HER Awards, an inspiring initiative dedicated to recognizing the top female high school student-athletes across the region.

This prestigious event shines a long-overdue spotlight on female athletes who are not only excelling in athletics, but also dominating in the classroom and making meaningful contributions within their communities. From record-breaking performances on the track and field, to academic excellence and leadership beyond the game, the HER Awards represents the total student-athlete.
Hosted as part of the organization’s continued commitment to youth development, the HER Awards goes beyond recognition—it is a platform for empowerment.

Honorees will participate in a series of impactful experiences, including a special visit to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, where they will uplift and inspire young patients.
The celebration culminates in a high-energy, glitzy awards ceremony, where each honoree is recognized in front of family, community leaders, and supporters of youth excellence. The program will highlight not only athletic accomplishments, but also , academics, charity, leadership roles, and character—qualities that define future leaders.

“For too long, female athletes have not received the level of recognition they truly deserve,” said Wesley Frater, founder of the South Florida Tournament of Champions. “The HER Awards is about changing that narrative. These young women are elite in every sense of the word, and their stories deserve to be equally celebrated loudly and proudly.”

As South Florida continues to emerge as one of the nation’s premier hotbeds for high school athletics, the HER Awards stands as a signature event that reflects the region’s commitment to equity, excellence, and opportunity.
Parents, educators, corporate partners, and community leaders are invited to support.

I asked Donovan who his favorite player is across all sports…and as he answers, I'm reminded of a famous quote.

“People may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” — Maya Angelou

Press play. This one warms the heart. 🎥✨
Watch till the end. 🎬

My brother Donovan Campbell just celebrated another trip around the sun — and ICYMI --he got the Keys to the City of Miramar last year! 😂
They must not know him like I know him, lol… but frfr, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer, cooler, more genuine dude. He's always represented for the community.

And listen… if he got the keys to the city last year, I can’t help but wonder what he got this year! 👀😂 Inquiring minds want to know.

Help me wish my friend and coworker a BIG Happy Birthday — here’s to many more blessings, more laughs, and more Friday Night Lights moments. 🔑🌞🔥

It's Friday night, the lights shining so bright...it's time for Mr. Friday Night Lights to shine. But this time he would have to share the lime-light.

Donovan Campbell was running late for his game coverage on a busy Football Friday, and still had to drop his daughter off. With the clock ticking, he made the call only a true girl dad would make — she came with him to the HS football game.
And that’s when it happened.
He introduced himself as Mr. Friday Night Lights, and right on cue without missing a beat, she hit him back with “Well… I’m Lil Miss Friday Night Lights.” Love It!!!! 💙

Donovan better watch out...she just might be coming for his job, lol.

Iconic. 😂.

A proud dad moment, a core memory unlocked, and a Friday night they’ll both remember forever. ✨

Sports is supposed to be fun and that is why we love what we do. If you gonna be out there in those streets, don't get caught slippin. Donovan Campbell wants to keep the "E" in Entertainment — as in ESPN.
