2018 is the year that I began to take photography seriously. I had always loved taking pictures but not as a 'thing'. I was using a Nikon D5100 (a nice starter camera at the time) but upgraded to a D750 later that year.

I began going to Senior sports and taking photos because I knew a lot of the guys from a mentoring group, and many of them played sports. I thought it would be cool to get them pics of them playing.

Photos from this post are from a high school sophomore basketball game, most of these guys have graduated college now.

It felt really good taking photos at the games. I wasn't making money off it but pretty soon parents started asking if they could buy photos from me. I thought 'wow, maybe this is something I'm good at'. I upgraded gear and started grinding harder than ever.

Until recently I stayed with that same gear that I had originally bought in 2018. I'm a firm believer that the artist makes the art, not the technology. However, you can do more with better equipment and maintenance and upgrades are necessary at times.
