I don't feel like I'm getting older. I feel like I'm entering my prime. Through the experiences, relationships and lessons from my first 40, I have a much clearer idea of what I want the next chapter to look like.

I've spent a lot of my life thinking about what's next. This past Friday night was a good reminder to appreciate what's already here. Family, friends, my health, good food and music, a lot of laughs and people I genuinely love being around.

Someone wrote this to me last week — “40 is DOPE. I feel like life gets better every year and you will too. Not necessarily how society views ‘better,’ but with age you'll let so many useless things, beliefs (and people) go because you're making room for who and what you are and what you want for you and your family. Since you're a fall baby, shake your tree of dead leaves from your 30s.”

I've won, I've lost, I've made PLENTY of mistakes, taken some big swings, made some great decisions (my wife) and some really bad ones. But all of it has given me a much better understanding of who I am, what matters to me and what I'm capable of.

The best decade starts now. This is 40 😈

Brian McQuillen catches fire in the first half to lead Chicken Noodle Hoop to another win against Oppa Stoppa, scoring 27 on the night and to stop the last minute push from Oppa Stoppa. 🍗🍜
Darius and Bucketville pull out a win against The ROCK, behind Darius’ 25 point night as he scores getting to the rim. 🪣

Darius and Fair Lawn’s Finest get a win versus Suburban Dads & Son in a double overtime game. Darius scores 23 points, hitting some big shots in the second half and OT. 💯
