Dublin Photo Dump 📸

In November, I was lucky enough to take a trip to Dublin in time for Irish Design Week, I had a great time meeting everyone and exploring in the city!

Met Dermot McGuinne (if you don't know, get to know), Learnt some screenprinting basics @dublinprintclub and got 'plastered' on little bottles of coca-cola!

We also had the first @gaeltacht_type 'team meet-up' (ie going to a bar and drawing letters) but must improve my photography skills for the next one! 😅

Thanks for the warm welcome!

A big thanks and well done to everyone who joined my lino printing workshop last month as part of The Design Kids, hosted by the amazing @louisebradydesign at @zerogstudio

Everyone did brilliantly and it was especially fun to see some creative uses of typography in the mix!

Box office team members Robert Gibbons introduced the film and @dara.graf designed the wonderful poster and ident.

Thanks again to the team for organising the screening alongside their daily duties. ♥️

THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN

“Do you think god gives a damn about animated posters, Colm?”

We’re not sure if he does but we most certainly do! To celebrate Martin McDonagh’s most recent masterpiece and with the auction of the furniture from the set of the film occurring today we wanted to showcase our new poster that will be available to purchase as riso prints in the coming weeks! So keep your eyes peeled!

Dara Young, Parish.

This project aims to enhance the identity of Dara’s home village of Kilworth in County Cork, by developing compelling and accessible ways to explore local stories.

Parish Sans is a display typeface designed to embody the rustic character of the village while applying a modern aesthetic. The potential applications of this typeface extend to street signage, heritage plaques, event posters, shopfronts, community newsletters, and any other printed or written paraphernalia around Kilworth. Parish Sans is also used in the Folk Lore poster series, which celebrates several prominent figures throughout the history of Kilworth using archetypal iconography.
