Meet Darcy, Darcy has overcome some insane medical adversities over the last few years and is a true inspiration. In 2020 he was diagnosed with Leukaemia, spent the whole the year during COVID trapped in a hospital, battling cancer going through chemotherapy and radiation which then eventually lead to a bone marrow transplant.

After beating cancer, due to long use side effects with his post cancer medications, Darcy suffered a broken hip via Avascular necrosis within the joint and ended needing a hip replacement at the young age of 24.

His Doctors told him that he would never run or train jiu jitsu ever again. In October 2025 Darcy overcame odds and proved his doctors wrong and competed in a purple belt jiu jitsu tournament.
He didn’t get the win but the real win was getting the chance to compete again.

Darcy has also completed a bachelors degree in osteotherapy and released a rap album detailing the raw struggles he overcame.

Future goals for Darcy include completing his masters, continue to train jiu jitsu and give back and support the community as he was supported in his time of need. A true DON

Receiving the news of the passing of my childhood dog, Sky, hit me harder than I thought anything ever could. After having cut 8kg of body weight during an intense training camp. I knew there would be only one way this competition was going to end. My hand in the air, over and over again. I did it for my baby. Love and respect to my team and my opponents, there was no way I could lose today.
