I wrote a letter to my year 2 teacher asking to be the class president, and she apologetically told me that wasn’t a thing at age 7. It took us a couple of decades but we got there, madam Community Leader of the Year nominee ❤️
Lol it’s a cute memory.
Come be in my little crew.
Winner or not, I’m always gonna help people succeed in the right way for them.

A little bit of the Capoeira workshop at Fuá do Nordeste: A Brazilian Cultural Immersion 🇧🇷✨

Movement, music, history and community all coming together. It was beautiful to see everyone getting involved and experiencing a little more of the richness of Brazilian culture through Capoeira. ❤️

A big thank you to @capoeiraflordagente.melbourne Contra Mestre Gingadinha for sharing their knowledge, energy and culture with us.

And once again, thank you to Darebin City Council and FUSE Festival for supporting this project and helping us bring Brazilian culture to the wider community.

A short story of mine “The Slop Factory” is in this year’s dSCRIBE, a free publication run by @darebin_arts. My piece is about the downfall of a solitary, content-farming criminal.

Find dSCRIBE in cafes, libraries etc. in and around Darebin (Northcote, Thornbury, Preston, Reservoir, etc.)

What would your pet look like in a Gauguin painting? Come paint with me and we’ll find out together.

Bring along a photograph — the example shown is my girl, Astro — and I’ll show you how to transform it using bold colour, strong outlines, simplified forms and imaginative surroundings inspired by Gauguin’s distinctive approach to painting. This is a beginner-friendly class, and I’ll take you through the process step by step — from your first rough sketch and colour choices through to the finished painting you take home.
This is much more about experimenting and having fun than getting everything “right.” Come on your own or bring a few friends, BYO something to drink and nibble on, and spend a couple of hours switching off from the outside world and making something colourful.
Unleash your inner artist and let your creativity flow! Learn the techniques of a Post-Impressionist master and create your own masterpiece. Book now!

Where: Paint With Me, 579 High Street, Northcote
Various Dates: Sat 10 Oct 2026 at 12pm, Sun 1 Nov 2026 at 12pm , Sat 28 Nov 2026 at 12pm

One week on. Thank you FUSE Festival 💚

On Sunday 13 September, @_dragonfly_cafe hosted Delight Circle, a First Nations gig for @darebinarts FUSE Festival, on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country.

Three strong women led the afternoon with live music and a message to connect to culture.

Family friendly and open hearted.

Shout out to @togetherfortreaty for their support.
