[🇫🇷] Quelques jours à explorer Mardin et ses environs, entre les ruelles de la vieille ville, les maisons en pierre et les vues sur la plaine de Mésopotamie 🇹🇷

Au programme, les monastères syriaques de Mor Gabriel, fondé il y a plus de 1 600 ans, et de Deyrulzafaran, qui a été pendant des siècles le siège du patriarcat syriaque orthodoxe. Mais aussi la médersa Kasımiye, ancienne école avec sa cour et son bassin, et Dara, une ancienne cité romaine d’Orient dont on découvre les vestiges et les tombeaux creusés dans la roche. De quoi bien remplir ces quelques jours dans la région ✨

[🇺🇸] A few days exploring Mardin and its surroundings, from the old town’s narrow streets and stone houses to the views across the Mesopotamian plain 🇹🇷

Along the way, the Syriac monasteries of Mor Gabriel, founded over 1600 years ago, and Deyrulzafaran, which served as the seat of the Syriac Orthodox patriarchate for centuries. Also on the itinerary: Kasımiye Madrasa, a former school with a courtyard and pool, and Dara, an ancient Eastern Roman city with ruins and rock-cut tombs to explore. Plenty to fill a few days in the region ✨
