I dropped the girls at home and then headed out for a few hours to check on the District and East Nashville. I checked in on the Frogs who only had three volunteers last night. I helped some ladies visiting the city find a cab, then met up with my buddy Darius and checked out a few spots in East Nashville. It was a busy night but productive.

THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME LIKE I LOVE YOU 🫶🏽
Birthday week(end)/(month) a success ✅ thank you all that made it for coming out and celebrating! Means more than I can explain. When you leave home and take the risk, you sacrifice a lot and unfortunately family gets included due to proximity. So when these big events and moments come around and you all show up - I feel at home. You all have become my family and I couldn’t ask for a better crew to do this with 🤞🏽🫶🏽 love you all!

Full circle moments just hit different. 🥹🍃

The Nashville Black Market is where The City Juicery sold its very first bottle of juice — and yesterday, we had the opportunity to pour right back into the community that poured into us. 🧃🤎

With Nashville bringing the HEAT ☀️, our mission was simple: keep the incredible Nashville Black Market volunteers and team hydrated with fresh cold-pressed juices and plenty of water while they worked to create another amazing experience for our city.

From selling our first bottle here… to coming back to serve the people behind it.

That’s what community is supposed to look like. ♻️

We never forget where we started. 🌱

I am exhausted…

Ashley is out of town this weekend, so I had some company for a ride along tonight. We stopped in at the Nashville Black Market and caught up with our friends Darius and Carlos. We also ate as much ice cream, popcorn and candy apple as we could. We averted disaster when the woman pointed out that Lily had picked up the dill popcorn instead of the caramel 😳

It was a lot of fun to watch Carlos in his element, DJ’ing the first half of the program.

The Market provides a great opportunity to check out many of the Black owned businesses that are highlighted at the Market. It’s held from 6p-10p on the first Friday of every month at the Farmers’ Market. Next month is the last event for 2026 so go check it out!

After that, we headed to 2nd Avenue to check on our friends the Red Frogs. They had a smaller team tonight, but expect a bigger one tomorrow night as we move through the Labor Day holiday. Everyone seemed to be behaving, but I reminded them it was early…

Everyone have a fun and safe holiday weekend! Drink lots of water!
