Guys, how is it almost the end of August 🫨 I seriously do not know where the time has gone! Reading this month was good 4 books and 1 unfinished fanfic. The Ballad of Fallen Dragons was my absolute highlight… Sarah I bow to thee. July also had me revisiting some faves, I’ve started my ACOTAR reread and guys, it’s just so nice to be back with the gang. July was also a standout month for film and TV for me. If you know me, then you know I am a BIG Spider-Man fan… he is my number 1 and Brand New Day had me so f*cking pumped to be a fan. We were also treated to Chris Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey, I had to pick my jaw up off the ground a few times at the special effects… magic is real guys 🤩 I also FINALLY was able to watch Obsession and guys, this movie is worth the flowers it’s getting. Inde Navarrette, the talent that you are - you are one to watch and I cannot wait to see where you go (I cannot wait to see her as Rogue *MY FAVE*) Shout out of the month goes to my homegirl @darklorebindery . Steph is real one and I feel truly blessed to have her in my life. She is also super talented and I am always in awe of her binding skills - go check out her page to see for yourself 👀 I’ve also been thinking about changing things up on my page. Reading isn’t the only piece of media I love talking about, so I’m thinking of branching out sharing more film and tv content, don’t worry the bookish content will still be the main character but I’d also love to share some other recs to you all 🥰 I know it’s almost the end of August, BUT how was your July? Did anyone else catch Spider Man or The Odyssey when they were released? #monthlywrapupreads #bookofthemonth #marvelfan #movierecommendations #tvshowrec

Every day my main feed is littered with posts about "how I gained 50k followers days", "how to go from 0 to 100k in x days", and while I understand the intention is to be helpful... I hate it. It reminds me of being younger and watching TV only to be peppered with weightloss ads that made me feel less than human, less than worthy. It feels like a subtle brag veiled as education - and its not for me. So here I am, reminding you that rome wasnt built in a day, quality is more important than quantity, and community really is the prize. It took me almost 5 years to get where I am today - at least two of them spent trying to fit the mould that wasnt built for me, because I believed success was only dictated by likes and follows. Spoiler alert: its not. While I am incredibly grateful to have the following that i do, I am PROUD of the community I have surrounded myself with. The people who enrich my life daily. And the opportunities I have had purely because I have been authentically myself. #bookstagrammer • #bookstagram • #bibliophile • #bookish • #book • booklover • bookdragon • readersofinsta • bookworm • books • bookreaction • kiwireader • reading • tbr • nzbookcommunity • bookaddict • booknerd • readersofinstagram • booksbooksbooks • booksofinstagram • i̇nstabook

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒘 𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓 ★★★★.𝟓 OMG LOOK AT HOW GORG THIS BIND IS THANKYOU @ivycliffwater @darklorebindery 🫶🏽🫶🏽😭 The writing style was so easy to follow, I finished this in one sitting 😩 I loved our characters, the world and the magic (which was so cool?!) I fear I need the next book in this duology ASAP!! Please I can’t wait 😩😭 here’s the synopsis ↓ Shadows hold her truth Her fate is forged in fire Caris Ironside crafts legendary swords and can wield them better than most men. But the shadowy power at her fingertips will be her death sentence if it is exposed. Desperate for a way into the heart of Capita - to avenge her mother’s murder - Caris enters a brutal tournament disguised as a man. In a city ruled by those who hunt her kind, Caris relies on the help of two allies: Cillian, a fellow blacksmith, and Torgrin, the army captain who infuriates her - who is as cold and unyielding as Cillian is warm. As danger closes in, Caris finds herself at the centre of a much bigger plot, and it will take all her power to get her and her friends out alive. Will love and loyalty be enough when the darkness inside begins to surface ... or will the shadows claim them all? Welcome to Eritz. May the shadows guide you. —— Booksta • Fantasy • Books • Bookstagram • Explore page • Reading

Mum always taught me that if you have a nice thought it should be shared, because you never know when someone needs to hear it. So what better way to end my day of trying to honour her, than by sharing more of the wonderful humans I am so incredibly grateful to have encountered in this life 🖤
