Today marked 10 years of Sydney Save Animals in Laboratories speaking for those trapped behind laboratory doors.

Vivisection means experimenting on living animals restraining, harming and invading their bodies in the name of research.

And the science is failing them too: more than 90% of drugs that appear safe and effective in animals do not receive FDA approval for humans.

Human-relevant methods, including organoids, organs-on-chips, human tissue cultures and computer modelling, are already here.

Animals are not laboratory tools.
Animals are not spare parts.
It’s time to fund better science and end animal experimentation.

How many books do you usually read at a time?
Normally I have 3 going, but lately I'm having trouble focusing on more than one....

Usually I have an arc going at all times, but this week I'm focusing on books from my TBR.
Do you find yourself reading more arcs than TBR books normally?

“IF YOU THINK YOU ARE TOO SMALL TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, TRY SLEEPING WITH A MOSQUITO.“
🦟

We added up how long our little group of animal rights activists have been vegan.
The total? 184 years and 3 months.

That equals somewhere between 70,000–90,000+ animals spared.🐖🐄🐑🐐🐓🐟🐬🐙

276 million litres of water saved.💦💧
276 tonnes of CO₂ avoided. Co²🌏

One person makes a difference. 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏽
A group makes a movement.👱🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍🦰👩🏻👧🏽👧🏾

GO VEGAN 🌱 ✌🏽

WHEN ACTIVISM MEETS INTERPRETIVE DANCE

Our fearless leader @vegan_giant_andy showing he’ll do anything for our voiceless friends… including questionable dance moves. 😄

As animal rights activists, we do whatever it takes.

Today, Andy started dancing along to a street performer’s music. Not for attention. Not for laughs. But to lift our spirits and shift the focus our way.

Because sometimes raising awareness isn’t loud signs or hard conversations, sometimes it’s energy, presence, and reminding people to look our way and ask why we’re there.

However it happens, if it helps people notice the injustice animals face every day, then it’s worth it.
Have the best weekend everyone and be kind to all💚

The animals don’t get a break when the sky opens up. We stand for them, no matter the weather.

WELCOME ED 😃👋

Our Final Outreach of 2025: Ending the Year With Inspiration.

Meet our newest member of vegan outreach, 83 years young, vegan for an incredible 43 years, and honestly healthier and more capable than most people half his age.

At his first ever outreach, he stood with us for five hours straight… no breaks, no complaints, just pure heart and dedication. Absolutely inspiring.

And honestly, if I’m going to celebrate losing a contest, I’m more than happy to lose to Ed, the man who’s been vegan 11 years longer than me and still going stronger than ever.

True inspiration. 💚🌱
