@hunderfossen_eventyrpark @husetaukrust @qvistenanimation @oyvindbrandtzag @darkridedatabase @geir.arntzen @trondespenseim @diplomis @kulinaris @rasmussiv @tomreodor #hunderfossen #reodorfelgen #flåklypa #ivocaprino #iltempogigante

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Dark Ride that shaped my imagination and creativity to the highest caliber.

Nearly 15 years ago as a kid in Middle School I discovered the magic of Rolly Crump's little Dark Ride after seeing a Scary Farm documentary's bonus features. The footage composed of a decorated ride I never seen before that looked Eccentric and Immersive.

This curiosity eventually led me to discover Knott's Bear-y Tales through an article written by @cdylanm and eventually a DVD containing footage of the ride by Extinct Attractions.

My love for the ride started there. Leading to many discoveries and meeting many people that worked on the ride or saved pieces of it. Eventually it led to me doing my own Project called @kookytrails. A project where I took the lessons and approach to creativity to a more unique and yet still colorful direction - even if the first version of Kooky Trails (2016-2024) was a mismanaged mess.

If it wasn't for Knott's Bear-y Tales. I don't think I would be doing what I am doing now with @fantasyfunwheel and @kookytrails. A lot of Rolly's choices for this ride and how he approached creativity outside the Disney wheelhouse was what inspired me to create unique worlds, characters, and Ideas. My team and I thank Rolly Crump for creating the most imaginative Dark Ride ever in the world. No one and I mean No One will ever rival what Rolly Crump and his team built in 1975. Its removal is and was the biggest MISTAKE in @knottsberryfarm 's history.

And although I wasn't alive when the ride ran from opening to closing. I was able to see it in the many pieces that still survive and now own. And let me tell you that working with this stuff was truly an honor.

And now that 50 years has passed. I really hope that Rolly Crump and his legendary Dark Ride continue to inspire many theme park fans all over!
