Proud of this crew.
Seeing prints made by digital techs on the wall felt good!
A reminder of how much creative skill lives behind the monitor.

Huge thanks to Capture One for the support that made this show possible and for showing up in person to be part of it.
Freestyle Photographic came through with the BenQ monitors, always backing quality photographic education.
Ilford’s Gold Fiber Gloss and Galerie Smooth Pearl papers printed beautifully, proof that quality materials matter.
And to Smashbox Studios and Blurb, thanks for helping bring the zine to life.
Grateful to Don Weinstein and Photo Impact for hosting and helping turn the idea into something tangible.

Nights like this remind me why community, craft, and collaboration still matter in photography.
I can’t wait to keep building with the people and brands who believe in photography done right.

Feels like we could use more of that energy across the industry

Grain to Pixels started as a simple idea:
I wanted to give digital techs wall space to show the images we make outside of a tethered station.
Print ‘em, frame ‘em, and hang ‘em up.

Here is just a glimpse.
There’s more.

The prints will be up Friday.
Come check it out.

Opening night: October 10,
6–9pm
Photo Impact Imaging Lab
6015 Santa Monica Blvd

The show will be up til December 2nd.

Supported by Capture One, Freestyle, Ilford, and Smashbox.

Does a print hold different weight to you than an image on a screen?

Film clicks open.
The leader gets pulled across the take-up spool.
The roll snaps shut.
Negatives wait for the scanner.
On the other side, a card clicks in, menus get set, white balance checked, Capture One dials the look.

All of it matters. These are the details that shape photographs long before anyone calls them finished.

Grain to Pixels is about those details. And celebrating digital techs that keep those same details in mind when making their own creative work.

Opening night Friday, Oct 10 at Photo Impact Imaging Lab.

What gets you out to see work on a wall instead of on a screen?

Digital techs usually stay behind the screen.
This time their work is on the wall.

I helped curate this show with Don Weinstein at Photo Impact.

Grain to Pixels:
Digital Tech Gallery Show
is about seeing Los Angeles through the people who keep Los Angeles photo shoots tethered.

Photo Impact Imaging
6015 Santa Monica Blvd 90038

Opening night:
Friday Oct 10, 6–9 PM
On view through Dec 2, 2025

If you know a tech in the show, come out and support them. If you don’t, this is your chance to see the city from our side of the cart.

Big thanks to Capture One, Freestyle, Ilford and Smashbox for backing this.

Will we see you on October 10th?
