Our mission is to make an impact in the Hawks Nest by supporting staff and motivating students through character development, strong lovers of academics, and self aware leaders through our core pillars E.A.R.N. Because in life, nothing is given, everything is earned.

Today, my son, Eric T. Ward Jr., was honored during May Week 2026 by the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and I felt something deeper than pride. I felt legacy.

The keynote speaker, Ms. Amanda Thompson, once worked alongside his father, Dr. Eric T. Ward Sr., continuing the same work of uplifting students and standing for education.

And sitting in that room, seeing Dr. Darrell Potts, who was once mentored by Eric Sr., being honored as well, it reminded me that what his father built is still alive, still moving, and still pouring into others.

This moment was bigger than an award.
This was a full circle moment.

Eric, you are stepping into spaces where your father’s impact still lives, surrounded by people who knew his heart and now get to witness your growth. You are continuing a legacy that was already in motion, and now your own name is being called in those same spaces.

I am so proud of you. Your father would be too.

Keep rising. 🤍

Today Bro. Sellars(3-BI-23), Bro.McNair (9-BI-23), Bro Evans (6-BI-23) and Bro. Jefferson (10-BI-23) had the pleasure in giving North Ridge Middle School (Charlotte,NC) a college tour. Students were educated on how to navigate college life, Living in Residence Halls, and some of the perks our University has to offer like our Adobe Creative Lab. special thanks to North Ridge and Bro. Dr.Darrell Potts (5-BI-04) for allowing us to Enlighten the youth! Great Work Brothers.

With so much that went on in 2022 negative and positive.I want to take the time to recognize and appreciate you .I honestly feel that the City IS in need to know and support these hard body leaders and organizations that have been putting in work all year long non stop 🛑

So on New Years Eve ,Mr Xcitement and Friends will present Mr Xcitement and Friends Community Celebration at FWC Community Development Center starting at 12 pm .Dj Blessed will be on the 1’s and 2’s

During these times, I believe it’s so important to publicly affirm each other. I think it is crtically important for older men to shoutout and recognize the wonderful work many of our young brothers are doing.
Let’s flood IG with images and captions showcasing the amazing young men in our lives and the ways they make us proud. I am challenging fathers, grandfathers, coaches, mentors, and men in general to join in. How?

1. Post a picture of young man/men that make you proud at least one per day.
2. Write a caption sharing their story and tag them in it
