Postcards from my first Monterey Car Week of many

Was definitely a bit overwhelmed to start the trip off. Almost hit a flipped over semi truck, drove through a storm like a drug mule in the middle of the night, and didn’t get to our first destination until 3 am. But all that just ended up being things that make my life much more interesting!

I spent this trip with a lot of good people, cool cars, and ate a lot of pizza. I look back fondly on this trip, and can’t wait to do it again

Crazy to see this many different keys, each belonging to a car above $1 million (including the mini van)

This driveway just kept getting filled with crazier cars

Got to cap off the trip with good friends of mine as we drove back to AZ

Got to watch Matt race for once, but only for 2 rounds because his gearbox exploded (he ended up winning his heat the next day regardless)

Got to make a new friend, and enjoy the story behind one of the coolest car accessory brands around

Every time I shot on 17 mile, something crazy was just right around the corner

Again, this driveway was its own private Forza lobby

Finally had some fresh fish and was not disappointed (every place claimed they had the best clam chowder)

On da way to da licka sto (Josh is holding the MC12 roof in the back of the mini van)

A lot of “Pinch Me” moments this trip (and stress)

My new friend Matt! (We faked talking for the pic because we’re both awkward)

Probably one of my favorite shoots ever, a Senna chasing us up a mountain during sunset

I have nothing for this besides it being cool and aesthetic

My fellow roadtripees sitting on the car that we weren’t 100% sure was gonna make the trip or not (turns out driving 10 hours fixes your broken AC!)

McLaren at Monterey Car Week in California, where they launched the McL 6GT, previewing a new road-going model due in 2028 and reviving a concept first explored by company founder Bruce McLaren more than six decades ago.

The standout feature is that the McL 6GT uses a manual gearbox, the first fitted to a McLaren road car since the F1 of 1992 . The McL 6GT is a contemporary interpretation of the M6GT, the road car Bruce McLaren hoped to develop from the M6A Can-Am racer.
