Top 250 Producers of 2024

Please keep in mind this isn't your typical "Top Producers" list. I try and rank producers based on both quality and quantity so artists that released a lot of projects/feats and had more 🔥 (5-star) tracks & moments, could be ranked much higher than some elite producers who released far less in 2024. Thus, you'll have producers that drop non-stop fire on 1 or 2 releases and will automatically be high up on the list and then you'll have others that drop monthly mediocrity but can still churn out a few strong moments with each album so... perspective.

Producers who made this list had at least 6 🔥 tracks, just about enough for a pure 7-track EP was my thinking. My goal is to acknowledge all the top notch music released in what was the best year for music and art since 2018 regardless if they were consistent or not. For a list of all their tracks, you can scroll down as I've listed all 2024 🔥 tracks in Feb but if you want me to list them here too for a given post, lmk.

Thank you to every producer for your art 🎨 🙏🏻

Top 125 Music Makers (Producers) of 2024
(Mid-Year Review)

I'd like to recognize those producers/co-producers whom crafted up and gifted us with the most memorable moments, experiences and energies of the year thus far. This list is organized both quantitatively (based on the amount of 🔥 (5-star) tracks each artist had) and qualitatively (how powerful the project was).

Being a beat junkie, music is my everything. There's nothing like pressing ▶ on an album and not knowing what you're about to hear and possibly the journey you're about to go on and being blown away. Music begins with a note 🎶 , a beat 🥁 , a sample ⏺ , an elementary school desk fist 🫵🏻, any noise and then the rest is history.

I hope both fans and artists discover new music as well as potential collaborators in the neverending pursuit of becoming the very best you can be within each moment by challenging yourself with where your craft can take you. Thank you to each artist for sharing your love & art with us 🎨 🙏🏻.

If I messed up a credit, I apologize. Please let me know so I can correct it.

Bishop Nehru - Kult Life Chapter 1: From Pain to Paintings

4 years and 7 projects later, Bishop Nehru is back! Man, what an emotional experience this was for me. I've been a fan of him since his incredible 2013 debut, "Nehruvia" which featured production from Dilla (RIP), MF DOOM (RIP), Madlib, DJ Premier, Ghost McGrady, Skipless, Zone12bit, Raz Fresco (which was shocking to learn much later in life) and Nehru himself. 2014 gifted us with "NehruvianDOOM", a collab with his mentor & close friend, MF DOOM (RIP) which showcased and further confirmed his incredible, raw talent. In 2018, he kept evolving with "Elevators: Act I & II", produced by DOOM & Kaytranada which while I didn't love that one, it continued to show him evolving as an artist and seeing how high he can take his art.

There's been some rough years along the way but in 2020, he found his voice again and crafted and created a remarkable piece of art with "Nehruvia: My Disregarded Thoughts" and since then, there have been a slew of disappointing projects. Last year, he dropped 3 more releases and one them, "Mysteries of Initiation" showed signs of him reversing course yet again so I expected 2024 to be a good if not great year for him and here we are, his first release of 2024 and boy did he blow past expectations! Whether you've also been a fan of Nehru since day one, recently became one, or about to be with this album, this will absolutely put a smile on your face. It's been a long time coming and when you're dealing with greatness, it's always just a matter of time.

The Bishop has returned.
