There’s something rather special about a day spent on the River Tyne.

The beautiful water @farnley_estate, a stunning setting and the @orvisuk gear getting a proper workout. 🎣

Then, in the afternoon, a salmon finally took the fly. For a good five minutes, everything was going to plan, before the fish won the battle at the net and left me with that familiar feeling of heartbreak.

The one that got away.

But perhaps that’s what makes salmon fishing so addictive. It’s never just about the fish you land, but the moments, the river and the memories that stay with you.

A wonderful day on the Tyne. Hopefully, I will be lucky enough to land a salmon next time.

What a weekend! 😍🇬🇧
Bit of déjà vu from last year - retained my National Gravel TT title and 4th in the race 😄
Maybe next year just a teeny weeny tiny bit less climbing…? 🥹⛰️
Mega rides from the whole squad with @sophiekwright8 and @jenson__young making sure we clean up all the national titles 🤩
Onwards and upwards! 🔥

Possibly my best wild rainbow to date. Spotted from high on the bank, the fish was sat in shallow fast water. A few casts of a caddis over the top and bang, we were off down river 👌

And just like that, she’s hooked on fishing! 🎣

We took the little one to the pond and picked off fish after fish from the surface. Made a makeshift viewing tank from a 5L water bottle which was great for getting up close to the fish, and had an all round good time - would highly recommend!
