V/Z - SUONO ASSENTE

Today, I’m delighted to announce this record I made with Valentina Magaletti. It will be out on AD 93 on the 23rd June 2023.
😺
@valentina_magaletti @ad93rec

World-renowned drummer-composer Valentina Magaletti teams up with music producer and multi-instrumentalist Zongamin in their East London studio to create an album of Dub / Post-Punk influenced material, featuring Vanishing Twin's Cathy Lucas, Coby Sey and Venus Ex Machina.

Dub postcards, east London boats, reflections in the eye of a cat, swallowing your tarot card, spitting echo from calming substances, yellow paint on our shut down local brunch spot, post-punk golden rules, shaking metal memories in a glass jar.

Absence of sound shaped in summertime 2022.

🇪🇸 “Albert Pallares was an amazing person with a great sense of humour and kind to his very core. He contracted HIV in the early 1990’s in New York where in just a few months since contracting it, he was very close to dying. He then went back to Spain and shortly after the new HAART drugs became available and he was one of the first in Spain to get the medication. Despite the terrible side effects, he finally got better again and went to live a normal life. He moved here in London where we lived happily together for years.

In 2010, Albert went back to Spain again and often in Brazil where he volunteered for a charity there to save the children living in poverty. That’s when he stopped believing in science and went to start an ‘alternative’ cure which after two years, sent him to heaven. I won’t start an argument against ‘alternative medicine’ and the all charlatans swearing by it but I’m certain he could well still be with us if he just didn’t stop taking his medication.

I miss him a lot. I hope he’s having a great time wherever he is. Ciao Alberto, I love you ❤️🖤” — by Davide Gostoli @dav_gostoli #whatisrememberedlives
