There's not enough Unbroken in my timeline, so let's revisit that show at Can't keep us down from earlier this year. I really like that shot, thinking about maybe framing it...

One of the best @unbroken_hardcore concerts ever!

I had told a friend of mine that didn't know if could come to the concert that "UNBROKEN is always very intense, emotional, current, true" and that if she could come she would understand that.

In front of the stage were Portuguese, Argentinians, French, Californians, Hungarians, Spaniards, Germans, in short, a whole world not only to see, but to feel.

Many emotions, hugs, smiles and also some tears made this Unbroken concert a magical combination that we will never forget.

Inside me, once again my chest burned constantly. That is a reminder of my eternal freedom.

I believe that everyone who was in the room took away an important and memorable experience for both lives.

The day after the concert my friend told me "It was everything you said! Much more. It was incredible."

The last two EPs from @unbroken_hardcore, And / Fall On Proverb, and Circa '77, were compiled into a 12-inch EP by @indecisionrecords and @threeoneg

These records marked the band's farewell.

Personally, these two EPs mean a lot to me. It's no coincidence that when I decided to get the UNBROKEN tattoo, I chose the blurred lettering from 'And / Fall On Proverb'.
Circa '77 made me dream a lot! At the time, it translated everything I wanted to see and never imagined in a hardcore band. It was all there, and at 16/17 years old, I memorized and copied it!

The cover of the album 'Fin' is the location of their first show at Alano Club, and it has photos from their last show with Eric Allen at Che Cafe.
These images remind me of a family portrait album, those pictures we have on the wall at home, with people, places, and family members we will never forget.

It is in the end that glories are recounted, and many worthy pages have been written that will be included in the best chapters of the lives of those who have followed @unbroken_hardcore.

I am writing this text from Barcelona, where Unbroken will probably play their last show in Europe, next Saturday, at @ckudxbcn

In the Book of Time it is said that "The end is the beginning and the beginning is the end."
Whatever it is, it was very worthwhile.
I hope you know that I admire and love you all very much, each in your own way.

Thank you, see you Saturday!

UNBROKEN @unbroken_hardcore - Fin. 12” EP

The final two Unbroken EPs “Fall On Proverb” and “Absentee Debate” are now collected together on one 12” EP release entitled “fin.”
These records marked the band’s closing statements, capturing both the raw intensity and the emotional weight that defined Unbroken’s sound. At the time, they stood apart in hardcore for their dark, and more punk approach, shaping a wave of bands that followed. Decades later, their influence is still felt, not just in the music, but in the way they showed hardcore could be both brutal and vulnerable, yet deeply human.

Unbroken was an amalgam of that which “didn’t fit” in the sometimes militant hardcore scene of San Diego in the mid 90s. Made up of members Dave Claiborne @dave9dnb, Steven Andrew Miller @stevenandrewmiller, Eric Allen, Todd Beattie @todd_beattie, and Rob Moran @robxm, the group had style more akin to Morrissey than metal. And, like any worthwhile band, the original, don’t-give-a-fuck-about-fitting-in attitude that they brought to straight edge was fiercely adored by many, and confusing or offensive to others. Their energy was lawless, their presence unpredictable. Though dedicated to the philosophy of drug and alcohol abstinence, Unbroken did not treat their music as an exclusive club meant to shut others out; rather, they embraced Southern California’s eclectic if not downright weird punk, metal, and hardcore community. This lead to a devoted following equally as diverse. Frequently referred to as “metalcore” while maintaining elements and DIY ethics often associated with “punk”, the bands’ album “Life.Love.Regret” is considered by many to be one of the most influential pieces of hardcore music from its time. Three years after the initial breakup of the band, the world lost guitarist Eric Allen, which led to a reformation for one reunion show as a benefit for the Allen family. Since then, they have toured minimally on and off. Though currently inactive, what was special about Unbroken remains, and lives on in many people.
