♟️ J’A; SURVÉCU ♟️

Autumn Equinox surprise! New song!

“Mythos”, much like all the other songs from this collection was born out of a lamentable acceptance that our ability to live truly free and prosperous lives as a whole, is slowly but surely being taken away from us and that much of what we have come to understand as “freedom” is mostly an illusion.

Right around the same time, a friend of mine played me a collection of prison work songs that completely resonated with the above sentiments. You know, those old Lomax brothers field recordings of the chain gangs singing work songs and spirituals and just about anything they could to take their minds off their hellish lives. Well, I think I must have somehow channeled that straight into this song when it appeared or maybe the song channeled it straight into me. Ah the mysteries of a song…It’s definitely an odd one for this band, as it’s our first to have no lyrics, yet somehow feels to me like it conveys something that perhaps words could not.

I distinctly remember the recording session for this one being a lot of fun. We had some friends hanging out in the studio so once the main tracks were recorded, we dug out the big box of shaky, tappy, whirly things and let everybody have at it.

The song came about back in 2019 or so but didn’t get a proper title until just this year. On a band trip to Greece of all places, there was a popular local beer called Mythos. It was everywhere and while drinking our fair share of it one day, someone threw it out there for the title, which we all immediately liked. In Greek, the word refers to an account, a story, or a tale, which is just perfect because I think about all the things that we’ve been told a lot and I just can’t help but wonder how this whole crazy thing might end.

Available today. “High Time” is the second release from the collection of songs recorded back in 2019. Six songs from those sessions are making their way into the world this year, each one carrying a piece of where we were then - and a little something about where we are now. Songs seem to know when it’s their time.

Love,
The Davidians

For Your Consideration — Latin GRAMMY®

“Así Es La Ley” is, perhaps, the most meaningful chapter of my journey as a songwriter and composer.

I walked into the studio with a handful of songs and found myself surrounded by an extraordinary group of musicians, producers, and engineers who poured their hearts and souls into every note, helping those songs become everything I had hoped they could be.

I feel an enormous sense of pride in this album, but above all, gratitude—for every person who shared their talent, passion, and heart in bringing it to life.

Time doesn’t simply make us wiser or more experienced. It teaches us patience. It reminds us that some dreams take longer than others to find their moment—and that sometimes, they arrive exactly when they’re meant to.

“Así Es La Ley” is that dream for me. The album I imagined from the very first day I decided to make music.
And now, at last, its moment has come.

On this day in 1981 there was a royal wedding that the whole world watched. Prince Charles & Princess Diana married in London in a fairytale. Here’s my song just for Diana 🤍👑

‘Diana’ is finally out for the world to hear now!

What makes this even more special is, my great friend Ken Lennox gave me this image he took of her, to use for the song 😭🙏🏻

Writing & recording this one with the gorgeous @nikko_ielasi in Ischia was a dream! @craigbauer_mixer always blessing me with the mix and shoutout to @dave_collins_mastering on the mastering ✨

Always grateful for the opportunity to create such beautiful music with people who I’m so thankful for 🙏🏻

Go listen to ‘Diana’ on all platforms & click the link in my bio to take you directly to it ⬆️
