Some places simply serve dinner. Others create an experience that encourages you to slow down, absorb the moment, and rediscover the joy of simply being present. At @the.pretender.hifi in Noblesville, music is not background decoration—it’s the reason you’re there, setting the mood alongside creative cocktails and thoughtful cuisine. From inventive drinks at the bar to dishes like the Hand-Cut Beef Tallow Fries and 14-ounce New York strip, every element plays a role in creating a memorable night. The result is a place to reconnect, reengage, and remember that the best date nights are the ones you never want to end. Read more in our Sept/Oct issue at the link in our bio.

The first thing you notice isn’t the room—it’s the light. It settles through the front windows of Freeland’s Restaurant with an easy confidence, softening the edges of a restored farmhouse at The North End in Carmel.

Nothing feels forced. Nothing needs explanation. We began with Nicolas Feuillatte brut champagne by the glass—clean, lifted, and exactly the kind of wine that made the evening feel like it had already made a good decision without asking anyone’s opinion

The first thing you notice isn’t the room—it’s the light. At @freelands.restaurant, nothing feels forced, nothing needs explanation. It’s the kind of place you plan to try once and quietly find yourself returning to—glass by glass, course by course. A reflection, perhaps, of Tom Main himself, who has built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like it has always belonged. Read more in our newest issue at the link in our bio.

The first thing you notice is the light.
-
It pours through walls of glass, catching on pale finishes and quiet textures, shifting effortlessly from room to room. Outside, the home opens to a covered outdoor living space and pool that hover above the landscape, overlooking the golf course at Holliday Farms. Inside, everything feels intentional but never forced. Calm, but never cold. “This was our first project like this,” the homeowner recalls. “We really needed our hands held.”
-
What followed was a rhythm that became the backbone of the entire process
