Day 13 Travelling The Thames 🛥️

Windsor ➡️ Hampton Court

Can’t believe we are nearly at the end of our trip 😢

Mum and Dad joined us for our penultimate day, we had been staying at @oakleycourt again for 2 days so if you’re wondering where day 12 disappeared to it’s because we spent it at @sohohouse river house so no piccies 📸 although I did get some shots from the river 🛥️

Just along the river from Oakley is @willowparkestates where there’s a riverside home called Fletchers Farmhouse for sale for £475,000

And as we were coming into the heart of Windsor I saw a garden which had a beautiful @armadillosun sofa! You know I love my waterproof sunloungers on my terrace 🩷

Then in Windsor itself @savills had a home right on the water by the bridge for £1,895,000

Then we headed through a beautiful part of the river around Old Windsor and Runnymede into Staines and had lunch at @swanhotel.staines

Then we picked up my friends @ian_palms and @larissa_hirst from Walton On Thames for the final leg of the journey

We finished the day at @mitrehamptoncourt for a delicious meal and a lovely stay which I’ll share with you tomorrow!

Oh and my surprise @zara order I must have ordered after champagne on day 12 and had sent to the hotel 😅😅😅

Travelling The Thames Day 4 🛥️ 🏠

Last minute rented our house out for the summer short term and thought let’s go on an adventure!!!!

So here we are on day 4 of our boat trip on the Thames, with no real plan 😅

Today was Windsor to Marlow after a fab 2 night stay at @oakleycourt which is one of our favourite places! (Check yesterday’s reel for a look at this gorgeous hotel!)

My fav river section of real estate so far was between Bray lock and Maidenhead bridge in Bray itself (which we want to pop into on our way back) there’s another reel of these beautiful waterfront homes, you can find them all in the ‘travelling the Thames’ highlight. A lot of the river homes are on the market with @savills so pop them or myself a message if you’re house hunting! 🏠

Passed the famous @clivedenhouse could you let me know if it’s pronounced Clivden, Clifton or Cleevdon 🫶

Stopped for lunch at #TheBounty which had lovely pizzas 🍕

Finished up at @compleatanglerofficial for a lovely Friday night stay and live music AND a reserved mooring spot right outside 👌

Met our friends for dinner across the bridge at @georgeanddragonmarlow which also had live music!! (May have been a private function for a wedding but nevertheless we met the bride and she was sooo lovely and looked beautiful! And we enjoyed partying with them! )

Ready for day 5! 😄

Mum and Dad missed out on our gorgeous wedding cake, so Ana from @cakelanestudio made them the exact same one for their wedding anniversary 🎂 🩷

Basically our wedding cake was so delicious and fabulous we had to have it twice 🤣

Food for the weekend sorted 👌

Amazing Interiors @amazonicolondon 🌴 🐅

Every year we take my Mum and Dad to a different vibey / unique restaurant in London for Dad’s Birthday 🎁 And every year it’s so much fun to experience the coolest places in this City I’ve now called home for nearly 16 years!

Last night we headed to Amazonico on Berkeley Square, the entrance was covered in greenery and giant fire heaters marking the way in.

Internally you really did feel like you were in the Amazon rainforest with lots of wood features and the entire roof covered in greenery. We sat in a green velvet covered booth which had a fabulous view of the live band.

Even our plates were a nod to the South American theme which featured exotic species like frogs, leopards and toucans.

Food was a complete mix of yumminess 😋 We had a traditional Brazilian dish to start which was cheese balls, plantain kind of crackers and an avocado and sea urchin dip. Followed by some Maki and then sharing portions of sliced steak with chimichurri and chicken with potatoes, broccoli and carrots. Finished with a hot chocolate fondant dessert and a boat load of pornstar martini shots.

As always, getting inspo for the new home and now I’d like to buy some kind of giant indoor tree 🤔 🌳

I dressed up for Valentine’s Day as Luke is heading off to play golf for the weekend so this was a bit of a Birthday / Valentine’s / Wednesday celebration 🥳

The MAINE event 🎺

Soooo much decor and interiors inspo at @themainemayfair

We headed there for Dad’s Birthday this week, a little hidden gem jazz club tucked away in Hanover Square.

Set in a historical townhouse in the heart of Mayfair this restaurant come speakeasy blends old world elegance, and New England extravagance.

And just like any house, the rooms all have a different atmosphere from the drawing room and terrace for daytime dining and then heading down to the brasserie and tavern for drinks and dinner, even the bathrooms were super fabulous!

The house itself is the last remaining Georgian Grade II listed building on the square, the majority of it was dug up for air raid shelters in the war and more recently the square has seen lots of modernisation and renovation. But number 20, which was built in 1720, has stood strong!

And where it sits in Medici Court used to be stables 🐴

Named The Maine after the owner Joey Ghazal’s summers as a child spent in the New England location.

In The Brasserie every seat faces the stage which sees Jazz and Burlesque performances throughout the evenings.

It actually had quite an art deco feel too and you know that glam vibe is my fav!

London Wall Walk 🏠

Here’s some things I learned this weekend…

1. If you want to have a proper walk round The City Of London then go on a Sunday! It’s super quiet, you’ve got the pavements to yourself and you don’t have to battle with 24553466346 people! Very few things are open but @daisygreencollection has you covered!

2. Talking of @daisygreencollection you simply must go to one of their fabulous establishments (there are too many to list but they pretty much all end in ‘green’). Get the Dirty Daisy (pic 4, you won’t regret it) and dogs are welcome until 5pm 🐶

3. The best places to see original bits of London Wall are right outside Barbie Green (pics 1, 2, 3) and by St Giles Church Cripplegate (pic 5) As well as around Tower Hill.

4. The architecture in London is fascinating! See picture 6 for the contrast of a Victorian bath house with the Heron Tower in the background 🤯

5. Bishopsgate actually used to be an actual gate in the london wall into the City. The gateway is now marked with a Bishop’s Mitre on either side of buildings on Bishopsgate itself where it crosses wormwood street (basically opposite the entrance to sushi samba, pic 10)

6. I have found my taste in Art! Bright, bold, colour block, a bit out there. So yes a giant pink bear eating a banana seems to tick the boxes 🤷‍♀️ I likey (see pic 9 for said piece of art on the wall in Paradise Green) 🤩

So home interiors, architecture and a bit of London history to enlighten my househunters - seems like a productive day for someone in the world of property 🙌
