Maritri’s Birthday is today August 31st. Let’s celebrate her life and come together as a community to support the nieces that she has supported in life.

Maritri is such an important person in my development as a music producer, an artist as a human. She introduced me to so many styles of music. She was a teacher and a friend who simply encouraged anyone around her to create. So we created. She let me produce her, to dream with her. How do you produce such a talent? She simply allowed me to learn with her, from her, because of her. She let me into her gift. Ignorance helped, determination helped, friendship friendshiphelped. The goal was to make an adult contemporary album with a country music tinge. It was called Reunion of Souls. (She wrote that song on the way to my house for a recording session). We completed the album in 2005 ish. "I Miss You" is a part of that project. At the end of the song you will hear Maritri cry real tears. I wanted to capture the honest and authentic feelings of this incredible artist. I miss you Maritri and always will. I offer this previously unreleased song for free as a way to commemorate the artistry and legacy of my dear friend Maritri on her birthday. You can honor her memory by contributing to The Chariot Scholarship Fund

The Chariot Scholarship Fund supports the nieces of our beloved Maritri Garrett; providing them with access to higher education and lighting their way toward a bright future. Each contribution will allow them to pay tuition, purchase books, and other essential learning resources.
The Olive Tree Foundation forwards these funds directly to the educational institution(s) in which Maritri’s nieces are enrolled. We all know how much she loved her girls so let us be the Chariot to carry them into their futures with ease as Maritri would have desired. Please give what feels good and together we can provide the Garrett girls with a soft place to land.
