‘The Aquarium’ by @dappledcities is out now! We recorded this album at The Grove and Golden Retriever back in 2021. I can still remember driving back to Sydney with Tim after the week at the grove and feeling like we had made something so special. Like nothing I’d been part of before. It’s a privilege to play with the gang and be part of that frenetic, joyous, unmistakably Dappled sound. Listen to the whole thing through. My highlight is the title track, absolutely love every twist and turn in that song.

🍒new on hyperrealfilm.club🍒
WITH PLEASURE is currently only available to watch at its festival appearances, but what is running a film website even for if not getting advance access to heady, gorgeous spectacles like this?? Y’all, this 8 minute short has got 8 hours of brilliant images packed into it — jump on the @withpleasurefilm train now, cus this film and the folks who made it are GOING PLACES.

A taste: “The film revels in its Panos Cosmatos meets Věra Chytilová aesthetic and churns its Buñuel sensitivities through a sort of frenetic Baz-Luhrmann’s-evil-twin machine, all while occasionally glancing at a signed first edition of Dalí’s surrealist cookbook lying open on a coffee table made of people.”
